In love with this phone but wifi is a must in this internet world.

But no wi-fi and no support fot UK 7-digit postcodes, sadly. Can add SD wi-fi, I suppose, so probably the best all-in-one currently available. I think I'll wait for something better though.

I've been looking a long time for a new phone. I'm now choosing between the QTEK S200 and this one but I think that it will be this one.

Differences between QTEK S200:
+ GPS
- Wifi
- Bluetooth Version 2
- IrDa

Yeah, phone looks really smart. Looks like March is now confirmed as release date. It was due around October last year.

This site has delivery for early March www.supergps.co.uk. Probably in time for the launch at CEBIT.

According to this eshop http://www.clove.co.uk/product...lement=26657 the phone will be available in March. I will buy it since there is no better communicator/gps bundle available. Great cpu, memory ok, latest s/w, gps..... (Maybe the screen is a bit small for gps but I'll live with that)

Hi,

Anyone knows if the GPS chip be able to provide aviation Data (speed/distance/Altitude/Heading etc...).

Well the previous post mentionned that the A201 was able to take any GPS software , is that known for a fact? (it would be sweet if the A701 does the same ... you guessed it for aviation software :-) ... thanks).

Cheers,

Well, it uses the SiRFStar III -- which is a darned good GPS chip. I'm hoping they follow the A201 and allow you to install whatever GPS software you'd like, rather than the 268/269, which comes prepackaged with TeleAtlas things (TomTom uses SiRFStar w/ TeleAtlas maps, btw). No clue on the phone quality, though ...

Honestly, I had never heard of this brand, I have a doubt about its recieveing abulity. Also will they being for sale in US? THis company mainly target on Asia market, I wonder the GPS they have, it that including US maps. HOwever, I do feel impressed about it's function.

Side note -- according to their reps, they're targeting an early February launch date, but don't have tech specs (!?!) or target pricing (darn) as of 1/2/06.

Great looking phone. I don't use wireless a great deal, so the lack of built-in wifi isn't a huge detriment -- that's what my SD wifi card is for. Kind of worrisome that I haven't seen anything new (no reviews, no nothing) since the press release ... anyone seen any kind of review on this yet?

And I agree with Lee -- all indications are that this phone is quad-band, not tri-band. Which is fortunate -- the lack of an 850 band here in the states would keep me from buying this gorgeous phone.

Why is this phone listed as Tri-Band when the Press Release from Mio's website clearly states that this phone is a quad-band phone?

Guess this is a must have. Except no Wifi.... that's unfortunate. So i'll have to choose between this one and the Qtek G100 that has both GPS built-in and Wifi
