Camera ? What camera ? Mobile phones cameras are just funny extras.
I use a Canon 30D for photos and a Canon Ixus for travelling. No phone camera can compare to these if you care for your special moments.

Very nice toy, bought it one month ago, no problems so far.
I consider it an almost full-option phone: touch-screen, wifi, WM6, best GPS chip available, small, number keypad for quick-dialing. The only thing missing is 3G.
Battery lasts 4-5 days if used only as phone and few hours when used as GPS.
Comes full with house charger usb, headphones, car-charger, windshield holder, screen-protector.
Way smarter than N95, no comparison there. N95 has no touch-screen, crappy GPS chip that works bad and sometimes only with slider open, stupid OS that needs signed applications, the only thing N95 has extra is 3G.

I saw a lot of "n95 is better than this one". Yes indeed but try to install MioMap or iGO (I consider this two software the best in eastern europe)as a navigation software on N95. Nope, it's not working, yet. On A702 with windows mobile you have unlimited choices for what software you want.
I saw the phone today. I like it and now I'm 60% A702 and 40% eten m700-m800. I think I'll buy one soon :))

Hi,
I have it for ~3 weeks now. Its a very nice one, working good.
The GPS (using i-GO) is very fast and accurate.
Working with many applications brings it to its limits (working not so fast...)
Besides the performance (small) issue, it is a very good product so far.

Reply to Merti (from Leo)
Hi Merti,
Many thanks for your speedy response :)
Your clarifications to my queries have been very helpful.
I'm considering Mio A702 and i-Mate 8150 and ASUS P750. But it seems Mio A702 is the only 1 out of the 3 that has a torch-light function, which is important to me. The other pda-phone that has this function is Eten X800, but that one doesn't have a numerical keypad, which i find useful for single-handed operation when typing a text message.
Thanks again!
Regards
Leo

To Dragos:
I wrote you an answer in Romanian, but they blocked it (it's English only on this site) :(
I don't know if it's dual core or not, but the GPS works perfect on this phone. It's really really fast. For example it recalculates rutes in about 2 seconds, it gets satellite signal in about 10-15 seconds.
The thing is, I didn't install much additional software on the phone, so I don't know how fast it computes when it's more "crowded". So far so good.

Hi Leo.
1. No, it doesn't work with the phone turned off (i just checked).
2. It has snooze each 30 seconds (not adjustable it seams).
3. Buttons are quite big and easy to press, but you won't use the to write messages because it will take several stylus clicks to get in the new sms window (so you'll be with the stylus in your hand already) and it's easier to write it on the touch screen full qwerty keyboard. ( it's not as easy as on a mobile phone).
4. No, as far as I could see. But you can write a note on the screen during the call (as handwriting or even as a drawing) and on your "last calls made" list, you can see the note as an attachment to the call. It's somewhat useful.
5. Yes, any tone to any function (it has a big window in the menu for exactly that, and you can assign a tone to every imaginable type of alarm or event).
6. Yes, with a single touch on the side button ( the jog-dial button). You also can mute the sound during the call.
7. Not really, at least not user profiles. It has display profiles; the sound is adjustable more convenient: on the main windows desktop it has the sounds icon and you can select either mute/ vibration/ any level of sound - it's similar to the computer windows task-bar icon.
8. Yes.
9. I really don't know, I don't use T9.
10. Yes, it has a Black list, but I don't know if you can install a White list. You should know that you can install almost anything on windows mobile operating smartphones. There is a lot of software available.
I hope I was of help. Take care

Seeking Merti's help:
Hi Merti,
Both your user comments have been most helpful & useful. I have some questions on Mio A702 and i hope you can help:
1. When the pda-phone is switched off, will the alarm sound?
2. Does the alarm have Snooze function?
3. Are the keypad buttons hard to press? (i'm a heavy sms-user)
4. Can the recording function record a phone conversation?
5. Is it possible to assign different ringtones to different tasks and alarms?
6. When the pda-phone rings with an in-coming, is there a way to mute the ringing but not to reject the call?
7. Does it have Profiles?
8. Can sms messages be moved to and from the sim-card?
9. After we have created our words in the T9 dictionary, can we edit those words?
10. The pda-phone only has Black List for Call Filter, do you know if there is any downloads to add a "White List"?
Lotsa questions...sorry...but i'm seriously considering this pda-phone.
Regards
Leo
