I just recently got the Motorola A1200 in red. I love it, it definitely has to be one of the best phone out there. I have one problem though: How do change msn messenger to be in english, instead of chinese? Please e-mail me.
Thanks

This phone was a lot of money but I figured it out inside out, I know every option on the phone, my buddy was actually able to figure out the chinese version of MSN and switch it to english, other then that the phone is easy to use, learn and get adapted to. I simply wish the phone came with more internal memory. Not my Memory Card since it is 512MB but will soon be upgraded to 2GB the phone itself should have had more memory. If anyone needs any help contact me I would be more then happy to aid you into the wonderful world of the Motorola A-1200 ming.

Does anyone know whether Cingular supports double-byte character (like Chinese) SMS? I tried my friend's Cingular SIM card in my A1200 and was able to make/receive phone calls. However when someone sends me a Chinese text message from China, it says "The original message had characters unsupported by your servicde provider".

This phone is great. I got it for 200 dollars with a 2 year contract to T-Mobile. A bit expensive but worth it. You can download a lot of games and ringtones and wallpaper for it at Motorola's chinese website. http://www.motorola.com.cn/ming/downloads.asp If you don't know Chinese, oh well.

QUESTIONS FOR ANYONE WHO CAN HELP, My phone came with an extra storage card, yet when i went to put music on it through the motorola phone synch program, i could only put one song till the memory was full?
How do you put video's on the phone? Is it through real player? how do you set that up?.
And finally, vibrate modes provide me with diferent ring tones, it dosent vibrate, does anyone else have this problem??

While I like the style of the phone, I do not like having to always use a stylus in order to operate it. The user interface is not convenient for me. Granted the screen is touch-sensitive so I can also use my finger, but most of the time I would press the wrong button (finger too thick). Also, it is impossible to search the phonebook using finger touch because the onscreen keyboard is too small - and the search is slow. The camera is good and display quality is excellent, but the user interface and ease of use is not good...3 out of 10, maybe? I can't use it while in a cab because I get dizzy trying to use a stylus to make a call. I seldom can operate the phone using just one hand because the flip takes both hands to open, and I need to hold the phone in one hand and use a stylus using the other hand. Also, the turbo dialing does not allow names but only numbers, so I've got to remember which key is what name. I also use a Treo 650 and I can use it on the go, and can do much quicker operations than the A1200. The only reason I still keep the A1200 is that it recognizes Chinese written characters and I can therefore send Chinese SMS quickly.

Despite the phone was bought in HK, Motorola in US got to do better than that. Not to further mention it's a US-based company and it can't help you in trivial matters related to its products!?!
One way is to try contacting people higher up and insist they help you out. You have the rights and it's only reasonable they resolve the issue.

Bluetooth transfer is usually stored directly in phone memory. This phone has got only 8mb so it could lead to memory error in your case.

Just bought this Ming phone in Hong Kong. Its very slick and got a great look going for it.
I get a 'memory full' error when I try to transfer song files to it via bluetooth, though. Any work around for that? I've got a 512 MB Transflash in it, so I'm sure there's plenty of empty space there.
Also havent managed to get the bluetooth sync working yet.
