Wifi should have been included way back in A780. What I am hearing is that its still not included !!! At the same time the camera IS being upgraded. What the heck is a camera doing in a business phone. GPS is a VERY nice addition though.
I am going to buy the phone anyways because there isnt a better model in this price range.
Other missing features ...
1. Support for SSL authentication in mail client so gmail will have to keep away.
2. Ability to "edit" excel files etc. just viewing is possible.
I dont have the phone yet in my hands so I hope the above 2 shortcomings are not true anymore.

Its almost been a year since i've had this phone, although i wouldn't say its one of the best phones out there in the market today but hey its a year old phone, technology changes quick..
1)The inbuilt GPS is free and very accurate but little slow to catch the latitude/longitude position at the start before you can start using the GPS.
Rating : 8/10
2)Web browsing is decent on edge network.
Rating : 6/10
3)Camera is mediocre in pic quality even for camera phones which have 3.2MP...My prev phone Sony cybershot k790i was way better when it came to pic quality.
Rating : 6/10
4)Audio quality if pretty good when using the headphone but overall loudness is missing
Rating : 7/10
5) Touchscreen is very good for a resistive class touchscreen and very responsive
Rating : 9/10
6)No crashes/lock ups - Reliable
Rating : 10/10
7) Battery life : Generally gives me 15-16hrs backup of normal use ( I generally use this phone for web and song playback)
Rating : 7/10
8) You can modify almost everything and anything on the user interface by using MPKG installer, lin loader etc...thanks to developers working on this platform
Rating : 9/10
9)Looks : beautiful, different and Unique
Rating : 8/10
10) Value for money : I bought it a year back for INR14500, and i believe the rates haven't decreased much ..which is great ..unlike Nokia phones ..
Rating : 7/10

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-08-07 15:48 from 3KxcMy understanding is the almighty brand's 6630 is certainly way ahead in terms of capturing enough background noise to the point I could hardly hear what the person is saying.
Instead, my other friend is using Moto U9 with Crystal Talk and once he was in a carnival, I wasn't aware unless he told me so.
Moto will probably never catch up in the competition for unclear voice communication.
Afterall, a phone is a phone. No matter how it performs in other areas, if it can't deliver clear voice conversation, it defeats the purpose for being a phone.

> In reply to darkphoenix538 @ 2009-08-10 16:55 from 2A33It barely works in the US. The phone was made for mainland China, and the GPS from MotoNav only has maps for China. You can set up maps in India & maybe in other parts of Europe, but for the most part their for China. Besides the issue with the maps the phone works just fine around the world. Keep in mind there is no 3G.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-06-05 04:08 from kQnEIf everything in the A1600 would work it could be my perfect phone.
You either must have another firmware/OS version – I cannot understand why you call its features amazing...
This claim lacks substance.
E.g. the recent calls menu works different depending on how you open it - once it shows the number with its time, another time it calls immediately. Annoying.
Pictures cannot be browsed, you always have to go back (5-10sec) and select the next one. Oh no, you even have to scroll from the top again! No preview, you have to guess by its number. Just poor, very poor, in such a nice phone.
The GPS doesn't work with non-native software.
I use it for half a year now, because I love its shape I am really hoping for some improvement, I would never buy a Motorola again. Same as the RAZR - excellent shape, programming standard 4-5 years old. My (year 2005) Nokia 6630 was by performance and handling way ahead.

This phone is very/so ugly. It's a newer model to the A1200, but still not worth it. Terrible phone, Do Not Purchase, Please.

> In reply to Love Motorola phone @ 2009-06-05 17:46 from tV3@Probably is not Moto doesn't know how to make phones with Wifi, rather the targeted market for A1600....mainland China, doesn't exactly allow Wifi. (The Wifi is disabled on Zn5 being sold in mainland China)
So until mainland China (fortunately finally moving to 3G, so we may see more 3G handsets from Moto) permits public wifi soon, otherwise your dream of having upgraded A1600 with Wifi maybe in vain...

This is a great phone! I used it for a few months now. It has a very bright display and all the features in such a compact phone are amazing.

I used to have this phone for a few years, it works GREAT!( once I knew exactly how to use it...) The only problem that I had was sending picture messages and figuring out how to "add" excess files on to Dictionary ( But that did not matter because I did not need it anyways ) Best part, I did not need to use the stick, and when I text, it works perfectly, it just takes a while to get use to it. If you have long nails I suggest you cut them.
This is one of the best phones I've ever purchased.
((I currently have the LG KF510, so far I like the structures, I'm still trying to get use to it.))
