Ronny, 25 Jan 2012Admit that battery capacity is great, one of the fastest, one of the slimmest but it's getting... moreIntel will be launcing single-core first. Then mulitple cores at a later point.
Different CPUs have different power output and battery usage, regardless of number of cores.
Intel's unreleased single core is more powerful than most dual-cores in the market today.
The RAZR MAXX has more than anough power to run games and apps for the next few years, and battry power to enjoy your phone fully, without looking for a charger all the time.
In general, quad-core consumes a little less energy than dual-core and dual-core less than single core. However, different designs makes this vary. Also, when they say quad-core uses less battery than dual-core, in general, it's not 85 % less - like the difference of the RAZR MAXX's battery vs. other phones. It's more like a few small percentages and barely noticable at all.
Just like most 1GHz single-core phones died after a day of heavy use, so does most dual-core. But not the RAZR MAXX due to it's heavy duty battery.
Also the standard RAZR, as well as RAZR MAXX, already have implemented SmartActions, a very useful tool to extend battery life. Most likely we will see many other manufacturers make their own version of this for their future top-end phones.
Ronny, 25 Jan 2012Admit that battery capacity is great, one of the fastest, one of the slimmest but it's getting... moreHm, on the face of it you are right, but I am thinking of getting a single core on the cheap. As long as it has enough memory and big screen.
Ronny, 25 Jan 2012Admit that battery capacity is great, one of the fastest, one of the slimmest but it's getting... morewhat the hell is anyone going to do with a quad core phone? that hardware is miles ahead of anything remotely practical for the next couple years. OS and apps will not be optimized for this for some time, its a waste of money until it becomes the new market norm.
[deleted post]It has same UI as RAZR XT910/912.
Wonderful UI. Icons is not set by Moto's launcher, but by those who make each app. Thext of each app has grey background and text is white. Very easy to read. In any case, if you prefer other UI, use your launcher of choice.
On my previous phone's I've primarely used LauncherPro and Go! Launcher. On RAZR I use stock launcher :)
Droid Terminator, 16 Jan 2012You are disappointed but not me or everyone because Razr Maxx as a dual core locked per core a... moreAdmit that battery capacity is great, one of the fastest, one of the slimmest but it's getting too late for dual cores now when Samsung and other manufacturers are about to reveal their quad core smartphones. Even Intel is late for introducing theirs too. They cannot kill arm based CPUs easily. Quad core phones are on their way soon and they consume lesser battery power than single cores. By the way, Motorola doing good now and they are very good competitors in smartphones compared to htc. They know what users want.
3300 mAH Battery really good initiative, battery play very importance role in current smartphone market, it drain power, Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX will rock market, just heard Samsung will do so with new model.

I am eager to know what a 3300 mAH Battery can do.
HELL YEAH! dont need high clocking CPU that drains battery so well, 1GHz dual core enough for me, make the battery bigger was the best thing Motorola ever made, pleas Motorola, make this phone available for Global
Absence of a radio is a huge dissapointment. Dimensionwise (L x B), would prefer = 130 cm x 90 cm, as that would give a nice viewing experience and also fit nicely in the jacket pocket. Would be a great competition for Samsung's Galaxy Note. The edges instead of being curved could be straight to give a great aesthetic appeal. Colours - Black / Grey / Gun Metal / White / Copper.
