Motorola KRZR K3 - user opinions and reviews

Motorola

All brands use noise-cancellation in their software. It would be ridiculous not to have it. Crystaltalk is just a hyped up slogan for a piece of software inside some motorola phones. Other brands do it just as well or better, but don't need to go touting noise cancellation as a sales point because it should be a given. It's like making a slogan "with COLOUR screen!!#@%$"

The CrystalTalk technology is a Motorola-exclusive feature. Phones using this tech have two microphones embedded on the speakerphone: one for adjusting background noise and one for adjusting the user's volume to maximise clarity and voice projection. This one is patented for Motorola only and if Samsung ever did have the same kind of technology it would have sued Motorola months ago, right?

@the guy who posted below:

"(...)have the build-in technology which can cut background noiceto a minimum(there is no other brand that have this feature)"

You are soooo wrong, mate!!
My old Samsung D600 had it already - and the sound quality was so much better than on these models you've mentioned...

I've owned a k3 for a month, then sold it because its screen is too small to websurf.
But anyway, it was a nice phone, light and small enough to fit in your jeans pocket. And it never lost its signal, even while parking the car in my -1 level garage.

Let's get back to basic ... Motorola do produce excellent quality "phones" for making & receiving calls. The sound quality has always been very good(since day one when they produce phones, the sound quality is better than any other brand). Recent models(e.g. K1, K3, V8, V9) have the build-in technology which can cut background noiceto a minimum(there is no other brand that have this feature). Anyone noticed this great feature???

The build quality is very solid.

My only complain is with the handsfree speaker phone, which is of medium quality only ... recent Nokia phones come with very high quality speaker phones(very loud & clear even from one feet distance).

I've had this phone for about 5 months and love it (now paired with an S9 headset I bought about a month ago).

In reply to a previous poster I've never had a problem with any MP3 I've dropped onto it, it also plays Mp4 video without many issues either (back to that in a moment) I've also never had any issues with text input (other than it being an imported Chinese phone and I really wish I could disable the 'chinese text' option)

Caveats... the 3G won't work with any US carrier I know of (AT&T runs their 3G on the 900mhz band which the K3 doesn't support for 3G, and T-Mobile (if they ever get around to it) is going to be a few mhz off from the 2100mhz that the K3 supports)

As for MP4 video. For whatever reason, even though it has a higher res screen than the K1, Mp4's have to be encoded at half the res that the K1 supported for the K3 to be able to play them (it gives an error having to do with unrecognized video format or somesuch), go figure? Although it will support a much higher bit rate and frame rate in video than the K1 and doesn't have the "not responsive/stuttering" issue the K1 had if a video clip was over 30 minutes long at to high of a bit rate.

Other than that I pretty much love the phone.

Now if anyone knows how to make its 3G work with a US carrier I'd be ecstatic.

I purchased one of these three months ago previously having 6 other Motorola models all of which I was satisfied with.

The Text/SMS system on the phone has a fault which Motorola are aware of but have not fixed. If you enter an incorrect character and delete it the phone reverts to upper case ABC1 or ABC2. This I find infuriating.

Also it will not play MP3's with a bit rate higher than 128kbps

@Hash...

Well my Razr Maxx v6 did not have those ringtones which was very annoying. My maes Krazr K1 on T-Mobile had them tho.

However, the OS on the K3 is more similar to that on the Razr Maxx V6 and not the Krazr K1 as u'd expect so chances are the ringtones will not be on it.

It's best u go into a shop and look at the phone yourself to confirm cos i really dont know.

i just bought this phone at a very cheap price. problem is, i cant get it unlocked without the technicians opening it. anyway,yep love the design but buttons r really hard to get accustomed to. not much function, but if ur just looking for a mobile phone with an elegant design and basic functions, i suggest u get this phone, otherwise, dont bother with this.

Nice design, nice to held in hand, but the function is way too un-user frenly. Speaker is soft and not too loud.

This looks like a nice phone but its price is very expensive considering its features.
Nokia N73 has more features and approx. the same price does anyone agree with me?
