You can buy this phone for £25 (ex.VAT) with airtime. I saw it advertised yesterday. Sounds like a fair and good price.

I like this phone. Only one problem (though it might be a deal-breaker): there is static when I move around. I'm not talking about EM interference or digital distortion. This sounds like the person on the other end is breathing too hard into the microphone. It stops whenever I stop moving. Really irritating. The person on the other end can hear it, too. A crinkling-paper sound. Or a wind sound. Annoying! Anyone else having this problem?

I've had this phone a little over a month. Cingular is sending me a replacement L2 phone because the one I have sucks. The phone cannot make up its mind as to which tower to stay connected to and during any calls it drops 3 bars regardless leaving you with a very broken conversation or better yet dropping the call or not even allowing you to hang up because the connection becomes so bad. I am trying to work with Cingular to resolve the issue, but at the moment we are considering switching to Verizon. I have four of these things and they all work the same way. Poor choice by cingular. Its no wonder the phone is free.

I just got the phone today. this is in reference to danny. in the book, on page 34, it states that the keypad backlight is light dependant. if you are in a well lit area, the keypad backlight does not come on. but when you are in the dark, or a low lit place, when you press a button, the keypad backlight will illuminate.

this is by far the worst phone i've ever used... i used it for about a month and reactivated my previous phone. i upgraded to this phone mainly because i was eligible for an upgrade, but also because the vibrate function on my older phone no longer worked. the vibrate function on this phone is useless; unless the phone is smashed against you, you'll never feel it. the buttons are not very well designed so text messaging is a chore. you also have to change the volume by cycling in ascending order. speaker phone is not much louder than the normal handset. there's no option to silence an incoming call when the phone is set to a mode with an audible ring; so essentially, any time you can't answer a call in this mode, you have to let the phone continue to ring, or kick the incoming call to voicemail, essentially letting the person on the other end know that you are ignoring their call...

My company just sent me a new L2 to replace my dying Nokia - this L2 is TERRIBLE! I hate it! The interface is SO complicated with so many non-intuitive steps. Too many control buttons that aren't necessary. UGH! Terrible!

This is one of the worst phone I ever have seen. The battery does not charge, the phone dies while I am talking and can not turn it on. There is always a static sound on the phone and people at the Cingular are not interested to offer any help they just want to sell!!! shame

The design is nice, although it looks alot bigger than the advertisements. I love the feature where one can switch from ring to vibrate (press and hold # key). No camera, well that's okay... but then again, I can't capture those special moments when my kids are kids! It's about time a phone that can be used to meet it's purpose (make calls)has hit the market again - what a relief! It is conservative yet very nice looking at the same time. I read somewhere that the keypad lights up when phone is in dark areas... Not happening to me. Should I activate something on the phone? I would like to see that happen! Overall I am happy with it and will most likely not change it.

Has anyone of you try to use your L2 beside a PC speaker? It creates very bad statics from mine. It is much worse than other phones, such as L7 or RAZR. It has a SAR rate of 1.54. Do you think it is the problem?

If this phone is switched off, callers can't leave a message? Anyone know how to change this or must it be switched on at all times (my previous phone allowed messages even when switched off)?
