I got my L2 today evening.
It is exceptionally good design. If you dont want a camera phone this one is good.
The body of the phone is made of some anti corrosive metal like titanium (titanium is well known for its lightness, more strength with its light weight and anticorrosive behaviour, i guess it is Titanium) both front and back made of the metal, even the buttons. The joystick is cool one, the buttons are a little bit elevated and a pleasure to work. Blue lumos in dark is very attractive.
I transferred mp3 ringtones through bluetooth and set an mp3 as ringtone. Its playing mp3 pretty well. I browsed net with my L2. Lots of sms storage. ITap mode text entering is a boon.

Its looks and beauty is not to be seen in pictures, just if you look it once directly, I am afraid you will then

"ACCIO Motorola L2" as I did.

I just received my L2 from Fido this evening, it's charging now... will start using it tomorrow!

Thanks mike for the $200 Fido pricing answer ;) I've actually got that info (though semi-offical at the time) from some Fido reps (both in store and in call centre).

I even got one of the Fido call centre rep to hint to me that the L2 would be available for order (for existing subscribers anyway) starting Monday May 15. So I called in exactly on the 15th and placed my order. To my most pleasant surprise, the phone is already delivered to my doorstep the very next day!!!

fido.ca has listed this phone as Coming Soon! Anyone has any idea how much it will be priced as regular phone purchase?

Also does it do MP3 ringtone? I have read slightly different info on this phone from various sources, so just like to verify.

is there any difference between the L2 and the L6 aside from the 32 polyphonic voices and no camera on the L2??

I wonder if it's possible to enable the 850mhz band on the L2 like it's possible on the L6. On motox.info's site, you can enable the 850mhz band to make the L6 quad band by editing the 0032_0001 seem

Does anyone know if they released these in Australia? seems to be the best phone available without a camera, and considering I can't have one for work, nor do I need one anyway (have a digi camera for that) i would like to get one

This phone is already available at Cingular Wireless already. No, I am not confusing it with L6 and L7

Lots of mistakes in these specs. 1) 10MB of memory, not 5. 2) 500 phonebook memories, not 1000. 3) CSTN display 128x160. Not TFT. 4) Not designed as an MP3 player, just MP3 ringtones. Can be used for that, but limited by the 10MB. 5) Standard battery is 720mah, not 820. 6) No EDGE 7) Triband. Think of this as an L6 w/o the camera. Good, thin, stylish phone,w/o a camera (not everyone wants one!)
