this phone should be 3gb ram,, OMG,, it would have beaten a lot of phones
For the people whining of the RAM... 2GB is fine as long there is no bloatware and the interface is clean without any customized crap.

everything is good on paper ! expect the 2gb ram ! if this will be their main version , then it will be litte less what other Chinese OEM this price range ! but Motorola, Samsung fighting in budget segment ! its commendable job ! if see lg, htc totally out of the market !

Specs aren't everything, never was, never will be.
PS: Sorry double post.
Honestly average specs. I currently have the moto g4 plus and it looks better with a 5.5 inch display. 4 more gb of ram and a smaller screen? Not interested. Who knows if its actually going to come stock with Nougat, still waiting on the update on the G4+
5.2 inches (just ~67.1% screen-to-body ratio)
X4 Soul: 5.5 inches (~70.8% screen-to-body ratio) it hasn't front speakers also G5 Plus! Lenovo, this looks and design for Motorola is outdated so much long time! Please some new looks also Design!!
67% body to screen ratio ?????
WTH is wrong with you ,lenovo????
I thought its already 2017. Whats up with the 2gb ram? next generation phones are already coming up with 6-8gb rams. What is wrong with motorola? and how much are they planning to sell this? I bet last years chinese phones are way cheaper with 3gb ram.
JeyJey, 13 Feb 2017Hullo, lets make a point clear guys. Motorola G Generation series phones are great... in their... moreEver heard of Xiaomi? Their phones contain chipsets which are way more powerful than what a phone of that price range usually has. For example the Moto G4 Plus (2GB/16GB model) in India starts at ~$201.5 and it has a dated SD 617 chipset. The Xiaomi redmi note 3 on the other hand, with an extremely powerful SD 650 will set you back ~$179 for the 3GB/32GB model. Just for comparison, the Sony Xperia X (also with SD650) costs ~$716.
Of course, like you said a cheap price tag comes at a cost - the note 3 does not have NFC, waterproofing etc, but it's not like the G4 had it either. I am glad Moto decided to include them in the G5 plus but then again, it's going to cost substantially more than the G4 plus thus making the "low-mid end" moniker obsolete.
So are moto phones "Great" in the low-mid end section? I don't think so, especially since G5 plus's price tag probably isn't going to fall into this category in the first place, and there are much, much better alternatives than the regular G5 such as the Redmi note 3 or even the recently released note 4. If you want a truly good phone for "poor" people, then Xiaomi and a few other Chinese OEMs are the way to go.
Steve, 11 Feb 2017Nope 625 is faster than 650 & 652Your clueless if u say that...
I WANT TO BUY MOTO 5G AS I SAW THE FEATURES IT IS GOOD.lets make a point clear guys. Motorola G Generation series phones are great... in their group price. THERE IS NOT A CHANCE that this series compite with Samsung S, Xperias or Iphones. Motorola (Lenovo now) is heading (historically) ...
I think it's the G5 plus vs the Nokia 6. Not sure which I would pick.
Hullo, lets make a point clear guys. Motorola G Generation series phones are great... in their group price.
THERE IS NOT A CHANCE that this series compite with Samsung S, Xperias or Iphones.
Motorola (Lenovo now) is heading (historically) to compite with better-end phones with its good prices. Thats comes at a cost. For example Moto G4 is a great phone for people living on the 3rd world which have NO way to pay for a high-end phone. Remember that salaries there are not higher than 700 dollars a month.
So, Motorola gives da poor people a chance to experience a good performance at a "crappy" price. OF COURSE... at a cost... NO NFC, NO s-BEAM, not the greatest camera or user-experiencie, etc, etc, etc... (what seems basic for us, it is not when it comes to compite in a market against another trademark that is playing hardball)...
AND OF COURSE... AGAIN... if you expect a performance like iphone or samsung high-end (or mid-high-end-range) terminals without overheating or hang-outs... then look for ANOTHER PHONE, samsung, iphone or at least X series of Motorola... this is not what u r looking for, then.
Still a great phone... a great MID (or mid-LOW) range-end phone.
