Being two days old my phone is, am thinking much whether to move on with new version.
Even moto forums people have raised the issue they are facing with 7.
The phone works great on Android 7. The reason why people experience problems after an upgrade is because of conflicting settings from the previous version with the new system. A golden software rule is to always do a hard reset (reset to manufacturer defaults) after an upgrade. This means a full wipe and then using the new system with a clean slate. All upgrade problems will then vanish completely.
RAVI91, 13 May 2017You can get protection glass from ebay. I have applied it before it get ruined. Can u send me link to buy this.... Thanks in advance
Am hearing that after updating to Android 7, phone is acting crazy? Is that true....
People please record your experience which will help me to update to latest one or leave with older version I.e. 6
Never buy this phone. Front and rear camera is worst. No USB cable in the box. Cheapest earphones. Moto mod doesn't withstand even 40°C and bends. Magnetic power reduce at this temperature. Motorola mod itself doesn't stick to the back of the phone. And my phone is not older than 25 days.

I had my Moto z play for less than a week and the rear camera began to have scratches! i'm surprised that a high mid range phone come with no protection on the rear camera lens (i have my Samsung note 3 neo for 3 years whiteout a single scratch)..
I searched a lot through the internet and found that i'm not the only one to have this issue, the lenovo forum has a lot of topics about rear camera scratch and there's no single reply from the moderators of the forum!
i read earlier in the comments that this might be a plastic coating for water splash and what is getting scratched is not the camera itself but the plastic coating, i'm not sure about this but
i tried to put a screen protector on the back camera but the quality is very bad and the auto focus always fails. I don't want to take pictures with scratches!
Does anyone have a solution for this problem? or should i return the phone and ask for refund?
valcazar, 11 May 2017no sir! shall i do what you recommend? Yes, it's worth trying.
Make sure properly back up all your data, because factory reset deletes all phone data, but OS will stay Nougat. Afterwards, update all apps and restore data.
Hope it works well.
LLL, 10 May 2017Have you tried backing up your data then do a factory reset, followed by updating all apps??no sir! shall i do what you recommend?

I'm using my moto z play for more than 5 months now. last month, i was so "eggcited" for the 7.0 release. But now, my regret reaches to the heavens above; z play now lags, and there also issues like screen doesnt sleep after transferring files onto the computer. i think ill root this and go back to 6.0 where i found it very heavenly!

IMO, when Z2 Play does launch, Z Play owners need not apply. Further, prospective buyers could later purchase the Z Play at discounted price.
Why Motorola is not using sd 660 chipset instead of sd 626 for 2nd gen z play I don't think people will be interested in upgrading to a minor updated chipset.
Motorola don't be a fool.

This is better option than a MOTO X FORCE (moto droid turbo 2)? Wich would you choose and why? i cant really decide by myself!!! xD
Odd, 08 May 2017This is better than moto x force?? please i cannot dicede wich to buy!!!I don't recommend Moto X Force due to overheating SD810.
Moto Z Force is much better with SD820 but I'm not sure whether that's available outside the US.
Anyway, I think you can not go wrong with Moto Z Play, unless there is any feature you absolutely need to have but Z Play lacks
