@UNKNOWN
=========
You are obviously throwing a blind eye at the fact that this isn't JUST a clamshell.
No, not every bar phone is a rehash of seven years ago. But please do open your eyes and see that this IS a RAZR (it's name...) for the 4th or 5th time now.
We're not bashing Motorola, but stating that its about time to stop recycling.

Samsung ( and underated LG) make better
clamshell phones in terms of functionality, OS, feats, and performance.
Bottom line.............

I don't consider these new phones to be rehashed models of the RAZR.There is quite an art and a level of achievement to get the kind of specs these phones have- into the tiny housings they are in .These are solid phones.
Do you consider the candybar phones of today to be rehashed versions of the older ones from 7 years ago ? How about sliders ? Everyone is doing them now.How is this different .Let's be fair and not bash .

I didn't know adding an extra band was going to kill the manufacturer's bottom line. Is it that more expensive to add the 850 band to a phone? Just look at Motorola. Even Samsung and Nokia have woken up. SE can keep sleeping for all I care...

I am jealous that I didn't come up with one design that could be re released two or three times a year with mediocre feats, terrible O.S and minor improvements along with a dynamic marketing team who can "brainwash sheep" into thinking that this is the "in thing"

@ Defender
Nokia, SE, LG, SHARP etc. are all manufactuers of Europe or Asia (obviously...).
GSM 850/1900 isn't their main priority as they are not trying to reach the Americas exclusively. All main models are released as tri-band because 1900 Mhz is the most important band (used in US metropolitan ares) as where 850 Mhz (wider reach) is used in rural areas.
Motorola as an US company has to consider this more carefully, but other manufacturers simply don't care. As long as they can cover frequent travellers/business people with the 1900Mhz that's all they care about.
The next challenge is producing dual/tri-band 3G phones that can suit the Americas... there we go: WCDMA 850/1900/2100 + GSM 850/900/1800/1900? How many bands should a phone offer...maybe on top we take CDMA 800. Those 8-bands cover the world...
With the US being so strict on their frequencies this problem isn't likely to get solved any time soon.
Go complain to the government :(

Hey KISH, stop being jealous. I like nokia's but why can't they makethe earpiece volume LOUDER! Thats my only problem with Nokia. SE I CAN'T STAND. Their menu stucture sucks big time. Samsung is good, I like their screens but have the little things, like not being able to use certain sound formats my moto can play as ringtones. I just can't figure out why phone companies just can't make quad-band phones instead of 2 tribands 1 for the americas and 1 for europe et al. If this were a quad-band or at least offered 850 band, i'd be all over it!

Only Moto users are actually impressed by this set, Don't understand how this or any Moto after the first V3 can get such a high rate for design,(only fanboys will still rate an old design so high)and fts are not that impressive either.
Guess you guys can't wait for the blue,pink and the D&G RAZR MAXX

Motorola vs. Samsung
======================
Same old story, one design takes off and the rest of the series have to suffer. Samsungs E700 started it, and so did Motorola's V3 RAZR. It's like printing: You make a copy of a copy of a copy and the end result is crappy.
This idea has been recycled so much now that it really is about time to wake up. I mean, buy it if you like it, but you'll just be another Motorola RAZR user. Phones are usually not about being "fashionista", but Motorola aim to be, so why is everyone buying the same damn phone? Band-wagon...
And you all have no idea how happy Motorola is about band-wagons... You guys make them SO much money and they don't have to put in ANY effort. Like a cheap drug, you guys are hooked! lol
Anyway, it's not up to me what you all buy. It's sad though that Moto, Samsung, SE etc. are exalted til heaven, but other better quality brands get hardly any recognition.
Motorola should make clothing to suit the phones lol. So all you Motorola fans can start a fashion trend :P

One more thing, why people cry about "2mp camera" or "3.2mp camera"? I think a quality 2mp camera is enough to take shots of things since I don't need a phone with a 8mp camera to take shots of microorganisms due to the huge resolution. If you want a 3, 5, 8mp camera, BUY A DIGITAL CAMERA! they take perfect shots, not that sh*t with a lot noise you can see at the pictures... Or wait the mobile technology advance more enough to provide us phones with a QUALITY digital camera, QUALITY video recorder, QUALITY mobile TV broadcasting and etc...

Desing is just superb... I can have a orgasm just looking at it, but it lack of features. No Wi-Fi or even the IrDA that Motorola never learned to do, at least it has built-in HSDPA. I wonder a phone with N93 features and RAZR maxx desing... just perfect. If N93 become a success, maybe Nokia could hire Motorola designers :D
