One reason:-
THE WHOLE DESIGN EXTREMELY UN-USER FRIENDLY!
You must be a salesman. Pls. do not waste your breath and our time here, thankyou.
To Big Pimpa-choose between the D500 and the V3...don't get the 6170...Nokia doesn't know how to make good clamshell phones.
To Ram-can you give us specific (and VALID) reasons why you think that Moto sucks?
To newc0895-exactly! This is primarily a phone, and as a phone, this ia actually very good.
To Mandy-This has no substance? Compare this with Nokia's so-called fashion phones (7260, 7270, 7280)...those three phones look really bad...and those are phones that have no substance.
V3 has no substance!
Tired of the look after a week of ownership!
This big phone is so un-user friendly!
I just got the Motorola V3 yesterday and am very happy with it. No you can't store loads of mp3s on it but if I want to do that I'll buy an ipod. Its looks are fantastic and this is the real reason for getting one. I had it at a New Years Eve party and everyone wanted one based on the looks alone. If you really are into all the fancy techno features then this phone may not be for you, go for the D500 but if you want a phone that makes calls, sends texts and looks out of this world then get yourself one of these.
motorola sucks!!!!!!!..nokia is better.more style and verstile!!!!
Hi no the d500 does not have a memory card slot. It has 80MB of standard memory. The V3 only allows you to play with 5MB of their memory. I am currently looking at 3 phones. The V3, D500 and stainless-steel nokia 6170. I still havent made up my mind. To HOTTE_LIPZ 71 im from Ireland Woooo Hoooo!
To BIG PIMPA-the D500 has a memory card slot, ryt? Anyway, I guess so...although that is more exclusive...but it still has a feature list made of crap!
to HOT_LIPZ 71-no prob! And I'm not from the US or UK...I'm from the Philippines. ^_^
this phone looks fabulous but the features r shit and the camera is ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL, but then again, if you want a phone just for the looks, go for it
Happy New Year everyone!!! I'm excited to buy a new fone this year. Hey BIG PIMPA & ^_^x thanx 4 ur suggestions. I hope everything you said would help me make my decision...By the way, are u guys from UK or US? well, juz asking. Later! =)
Could a v3 be classed the same as a vertu?
U cant even put 1 full mp3 on a v3. u can put 20 on a d500. Still im gettin the v3 for the looks!
Again, let us not compare this phone to the S700 and the P910...this is in a totally different class...the S700 is a multimedia phone and the P910 is a smart phone..this is a fashion phone...and if you don't really need the features (and all you want are the good looks), then yes, it is worth all the money your gonna pay for it.
To Hotte_Lipz 71-as I said earlier, if all you want are the looks and you don't really need the multimedia features of the E398, then it is worht your money. Now, if you like the features of the E398, then just get yourself another one. ^_^x
To Big Pimpa-it can play mp3s but there's no way you can fit a whole song into the phone...the onboard memory is not enough.
To FS-please don't be unfair. Don't say that someone who is a fan of mobile phones will change this in 3 months. The only reason you're saying that is because you're judging the phone based on what it doesn't have...for most mobile fans I know, the great reception alone is enough for them to want to keep this phone forever.
Good looking and handsome phone in design. But not worth for $$$. I bet that if u r mobile phone fans, u will change this phone within 3mths!! Really not worth for $$$. RM2,799 in Malaysia!! With this price u can get P900 or S700! Even E680 is better!
does the v3 have mp3? To HOTTE_LIPZ 71
It is worth ur money if u want something truly unique that other people will not have and get very jealous of yoy. It makes you look rich looking and celebs have it! Jordan and Peter Andre and its featured in the Gwen Stefani - What u waiting for video
I lost my E398 last month and now I'm planning to buy a new fone early next year (2005). Before, I was considering V3 as one of my choices because it really caught my eye when I 1st saw it at d mall. Its high-class design & elegance really impressed me a lot. But now, after reading some of the comments here (esp the negative ones) it made me think about what this fone really has to offer aside from its standout appearance... Is it really worth my money?
I happened just get my V3 and I haven't done with it yet. I think the sms is slow, most of the time is like lagging. And the battery, it doesn't last long as I expected. It even last for only like 1 or 2 days. The design is not really that nice neither, since its true that it is thin but the width ... it is just too wide.
i dont like the look of this phone, its too long and wide, and i dont like the lump at the bottom. nice screen, the keypad looks like its come straight off a robot or something, looks horrible.
It all depends on what you want from the phone. It can't give some of you the world you know! Actually, no phone can. But, it can be the perfect phone too. It is perfect for me, because I don't ask for a lot from it. It doesn't need to do everything. Its been easily what I've been looking for. Like some people mentioned, there are those of us who don't need pda functions but still like to have something cool. This is the combo. Its an awesome phone with excellent reception....and excellent looks. For me, it was definitely worth it. And no, I'm not rich and yes, I'll be paying for it for the next couple of months and I don't care because it was for me. Oh, and by the way, even people who thought think this phone is shit are still "awed" when they see me with it. They actually did think it was awesome. There's my 2 cents guys. I really like the fact that I don't see many other people with it too.
I'm no moto sales person, but I can tell you that this is one good phone...that is if you rate it based on what it has, not what it's missing. To compare this with the D500 is completely unfair as the D500 is of a different class...this is a fashion phone (think Vertu, or Nokia 8910), the D500 isn't (compare the D500 so the Sony Ericsson S700, they're more alike). When you get one of these, you're not exactly paying for the features, but for the looks...and this is one great-looking phone, if I say so myself. And contrary to waht other people might say, this phone is actually user-friendly (well, compared to the motos of old), but it still has some way to go before it becomes as easy to use as a Nokia.
one more thing, every phone will probably break if you drop it on the floor from 2 feet, so if your stupid enough to do it then expect the sides to snap off.
