got this phone from upgrading my contract, expensive but for the material used, I think that explains why, and also not to mention the aluminum box case (big and heavy). Overall the phone is good in quality, I do like it very much (well all I need is a phone with normal function). It is a bit wider than normal phone, but it's only the same width as a credit card, so not a problem to me. I find the menu alright to use, but need time to get use to it. call quality is good and reception is excellent. This is not a phone you go for if you want lots of functions from a phone.
a very good phone but no video capture ive heard, could be the only thing to let this beauty down
The V3 has raised my interest and I would like to ask you V3 owners this:
- does the synchronizing of Outlook contacts and schedule work? Or even better, does it work over BT?
- Quite often I take pictures from text written on flip-overs, using my sharp GX30. Is the camera on the V3 suited for this or would the result be unreadable once printed or viewed on phone or PC?
I think i just set a world record. I saw a friend using this phone - thought it looked great so went out and splashed some hard earned cash. Within two hours i realised i had made a terrible mistake. You have to be Einstein to sms quicly with this phone and the phone book is a mess. Its a hairdressers phone and should come with a free Toyota MR2. I did however manage to sell it for only a 10% loss within 24 hours - bought the S700i instead. Thank god for Sony. Nokia wake up.
hum... I own a V3, I like its RF, its design thinness, METAL... color display... big screen... OK camera... speakerphone, clear voice ...
HATE: SLOWA$$ PHONEBOOOK, and lag in general... others... fits me... nice and clean... simplicity
for other stuff i used ipod + pocket pc
I have to agree with Matt. The V3 menu is almost identical to the V600 menu, which I have been using for the past year or so. Once I'd had the phone for a day or two, I was comfortable with the menu system and had no problems at all.
People seem almost to boast that they 'can't get used to this' or are 'unable to use that'. Personally I would be embarrassed to admit that something as simple as a mobile phone had got the better of me. After all, you wouldn't boast about not being able to read would you?
Mr. Prince, can you tell us all how much you got paid by motorola for writing your opinion here?
Hi, Matt:- Sorry to say I cannot agree with you. The manu is poor & overall the phone NOT USER FRIENDLY at all. You sound like a frog in the well!
I think all the people with bad comments on the V3 must be stupid. I work in the mobile market so know my stuff and find the V3 the best phone i have ever had. When people moan about the menu being hard and poor this and poor that, i laugh to myself. It is a phone and for that it excels. The menu is really good and fine it may be alittle hard compared to other phones but isnt that half the fun??? , getting to know a new phone. If people are just gonna come on here and moan then do us all a favour and moan somewhere else.
in my country, there is a "special" telephone enquiry hotline number printed on a card just for customers of the v3 only. the card was inside the sealed package. when i picked up the v3, the whole package was sealed in transparent plastic by motorola (the package cannot be re-sealed again). the v3 enquiry hotline # was valid till the 21stoct2004. i did call up the hotline service to enquire about the alarm icon & the answer was.....there is no alarm icon - not even the date book alarm!
do you really own a v3?....,i doubt very much! maybe you mistaken the ringtone icon (which looks like a bell) as the alarm icon.
i am one of the first guy in the world to put in an order around the end of august (a pre-order) & never tried the phone before i place the order (obviousely this was my mistake).
If you hate it so much Rocky, y did you buy it in the 1st place? Didnt you try it b4 u bought it? Doesnt make much sense to me.
Mine has an icon to show that the alarm is ON. Are you sure you even have a V3? or even know how to use it ??
i feel cheated by motorola. paid so much for so little (function). the more i use & look at my v3, the more i hate it. thinking of trading in for another make but the second hand motorola trade-in price is quite low (according to the sales person).
V3 has got almost no function compare to many other phones on the market for its size. The phone is too wide; maybe it's designed for basket ball players in mind!!! My V3 do not even have an icon to show you the alarm is "On".
What are you comparing actually with the NEC N900?? Functions or just the size??
"THAT'S REALLY COOL & NEAT"
