If you do not download the coreplayer for movies what file do they need to be converted to in order to work?
I placed an Mpeg4 on it but looks like in properties it is really m4v which is a partial of Mpeg4. Either way it would not play. So what file format on standard Z8 phone will work?

it just keeps on rebooting u know...diff colors flashing on the ph's screen n all i see is the motorola logo reboot,reboot,reboot....then that's it sometimes it tkes an hour just so i can see the home screen n be able to breathe again n say thank goodness it's still working!!!

r u hving the sme prob as mine??im hving a hard time with my ph..it started 3 days after i bought the ph..i was taking a pink then suddenly the whole screen turned pink and auto restarted???i thought at first i thought i shouldn't worry bout nything..then until months by months it soon began to hve probs..i cnt let my batt's ph low coz il be hving a hard time using it up,,when it's turned on,it'll only go to the welcome logo of motorola,then it'll turn pink,green,red,aqua blue..:-( sigh..i dont know what to do..guess hve to bring it to motorola shop where i bought it since it still hve the warranty..does nyone here know why my screen turns into diff colors upon starting up,,or just cnt open it,thnx so much!!

by changing the firmware to MODIFIED firmware, you can change icons, put different startup/shutdown animation and sounds and even install expired,cracked apps.....
moto z8 is a symbian phone. use COREPLAYER app to play ALL VIDEO FORMATS. avi, FLV, mp4,3gp, mpg, etc... and also ALL AUDIO FORMATS.
how come you're not aware of this stuff? u should read forums so you'll get more knowledge and make the most out of your phone.

your rizr z8 will be a multimedia monster ONLY AFTER you change the stock firmware. There are a lot of available modded firmwares such as elegance, foxmod, etc.
I updated mine with rizrvistaz8 firmware and now my z8 is definitely worth keeping. no more annoying bugs whatsoever.

hello guys,i have the z8 for a year and a couple of month its a wonderful phone,motorola center in egypt fixed all the problems about the z8 and upgraded the firmwall,my advice go for this phone if u like music net calling fashion.if u like camera go for the z10 its a very good phone too my bro has it.all what i can say well done moto just change the os and screen and it would have been a monster cheers!!dont buy if u like to instal games as u ll find problems with that.

For everyone who has an moto z8 try the site
modmymoto.com there are a lot of advices about flashing and resolving your problems with z8.I recommend to install "elegance" monsterpack because after i had done this i didn't have any more problems.Sorry if i wasn't allowed to say this.

After 9 months with my Z8, I might say goodbye to it afterall.
Yesterday I called my wife, all of the sudden the phone shut itself down...obviously dropped the call, and wife was going "why did u hang up on me???"
There is practically nothing on my Z8...no additional program (other than those straight from Moto itself), not even any playlist for music...
Periodically the phone shut itself down while charging as well.
I already gave up what all other functions it should perform...just to use it as a "phone" for dial out and receive calls. However, Z8 seems to fail even the most fundamental requirement as a phone.
I still like its design, despite some may complain about its ergonomics. I really really wish somebody can simply install any other type of O/S into my Z8...even the basic P2K, which would make it work like my Z3...which still works as a phone. (with "ok" music player)
Planning to sell my Z8 this weekend, though not sure how much I can get out of it...or if any electronic stores offers a good trade-in deal, I might get a VE66. (though under current economic situation, better get some cash instead of spending on another mobile, as eventually prices for VE66 may drop below US$120...)
How about the 3G function? I'm planning to dig out my good old V3x or E770, either of which still works better as a "phone" than Z8.
