Finally a fresh design. It's been a while since any manufacturer has released a mobile with fresh design. I doesn't say much on technical side (when will Motorola finally put radio on their mobile phones?)

Well this phone is making me look more into Motorola. Used to love um but then got tired of that UI. Now Moto has Symbian and UIQ. Very impressive i must say. Was forever a Nokia guy but Moto has my attention now. Great phone Moto keep it up!!!!! Cant wait for the SCPL to come out. If this is a turning point for Moto then I can only image what SCPL will be like.

Hi....this phone is good perfomance and features...i don't know what some people said about the bad camera perfomance...motorola not combined with others camera or optical manufacture like nokia...so,please thinking positively....if you want good camera perfomance...just buy a new one digital camera....you know hat is the real phone function?

because it's a powerful multi-media device.
the Texas Instruments 2420 (or TI-2420) is the same ARM processor used in nokia's new N800 internet tablet and if not the very same one found in E90 and iPhone, it will be in the same league. when you turn the screen sideways in landscape mode, it will be like video on an iPod since they both do video at 30 frames per second at the same screen resolution.

"Video can be played back at up to 30 frames per second and in the demo I saw playback was crisp and smooth. Motorola expect consumers to fit up to 10 feature length films on to a 4GB microSD card. "The Z8 runs the latest version of UIQ - 3.1, which was announced last week. It is the first UIQ non-touch screen device and the display was nice and bright (and shouldn't suffer too much in sunlight). All the UI interaction is carried out via softkeys. The demo phone I saw showed an extremely slick and speedy interface; given some of the early software problems with Sony Ericsson’s UIQ phones, this was very impressive."
the camera and other specs are not pristine but this is a experimental phone like the RAZR V3x. it's the first product of motorola's european Sendo team they acquired a couple years ago and they will have a few more UIQ products on the horizon using this same ARM processor and architecture with better specs.
this phone is 2 years in the making and when they started, a 2mp camera was king. now they can churn out new products faster with better specs since they have RIZR Z8 as a blueprint. all they'll have to do is make it thinner, add a better camera, etc.
you probably see an improved RIZR Z8 by summertime.

very well balanced phone,...
i have wifi in my imate, but i hardly get to use it, it drains the battery out real fast, also the phone looks sleek and sexy, it'll definately get a second look, like most of the moto's now a days do,..

Having a 210g comunicator (e90) its more confortable than a 112g phone?
Having a clasic style communicator its better than having new desing?
Having a standard procesor its batter than one of the most powerful ones?
Having just 2GB of storage (e90 and n95) its better than 4GB?

Same goes for Nokia and SE fanboys, if you don`t like Motos go and buy phones that you like. Don`t compare them to Motorolas you hate so much.
