> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-02-23 01:51 from uSV1 - click to readI'm pretty sure Z8 handles more than 100 songs...(capacity of a 128mb card?)

Here is my experience with the memory card of Z8.

I bought my Z8 back in June (for about US$250), I checked and various sources indicated Z8 supports more than 8gb memory card (up to 32gb?).

So I paid near US$50 for a 8gb card into my Z8. However, for some reason my Z8 couldn't read any content from the card.

Something went wrong with my card? I doubt so as I put the exact same 8gb card into my U9 (which officially only supports 4gb!) and all the songs and files can be found / played.

What went wrong with my Z8? I had no idea, so are the staff from my local Moto Service Center...who investigated but couldn't figure out the reason.

So now my Z8 runs on a 4gb card and it works fine...only the phone is so complicated I'd rather play music from my simple EM35/Zn5.

Hi!
I bought this phone a 3 days ago. I need help setting up/where to find applications lock for messages, folders, contacts, etc. as it used to be on motorola phones. I really need to put password/security code on my messages and folders. Previous models of motorola has this option; Application Lock. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you...

i saw a guy commented about the memory capacity of z8. He said that it can only handle 100 songs. For your information my z8 has 131 songs currently and it is still fast as new. Maybe you only have a very low capacity of memory card which explains why all of you guys are complaining. How poor of you, before you complain, try using it with a high memory micro sd

You just have to know what you are looking for.

i havent use Z8 but i think its design s quite ridiculous although d features are ok,i definitely love d razr v8.with its flip top nd touch screen listening 2 music s an innovation.
I also love nokia n85. It has great features like 5mp camera, slim,nd has wireles LAN.nd i post this comment on it.there s no argument on which s more innovative.i think choosing a phone wud mean coinciding with one's personality.

> In reply to 100 Moto @ 2009-02-16 05:54 from Er2M - click to readThere is no problem with the set that does not work in USA or Canada. Please note you need to change the softwear as according to region wise. Cell are manufactured as according the technology available in a country.

All you need is to install sofwear and change setting in you cell phone. Please note I have a Motrolla set too and it worked though I bought from an Asian market.

You see when you watch to much T.V. this is what happens.
You acting like the z8 was the only 3g enabled phone when it came out, for all you know they could've used the N95 or a Samsung u700.

> In reply to 100 Moto @ 2009-02-16 05:47 from Er2M - click to readLook right, it was up for sale and me and another dude wanted it. He didn't have the money on him and I did and I thought that this phone had everything so i bought it. I had no time to go home and check out this phones features, I had the opportunity so I took it OK. That was one opportunity I really shouldn't have taken.

> In reply to Kryptonite @ 2009-02-13 06:26 from 01PC - click to readTo answer your question:

Next problem; 3G; here I was thinking that Motorola’s 3g enabled phones could’ve worked in the U.S.A. when I go there I can’t use it, and why is that, because the 3g’s band is 2100; why can’t Motorola, wait, all phone companies see that we people travel and need 3g that can work in more than one part of the world, well I see Motorola has 9 phones with 3g that can be used in America, at least!

You need to thank the Americans who use special frequency away from the rest of the world...where the rest of the world using GSM 3G are running on WCDMA 2100, the "American 3G" runs on GSM850/1900.

So most quad-band phones from Europe / Asia only works on the 2G network in US. I don't really know any (Moto) phone that suppports both US 3G and European / Asian 3G. If you do, please let me know.

Phones like Z8 which support GSM850/900/1800/1900/WCDMA 2100 should work most parts of the world....where Japan runs on its own frequency but now also shares WCDMA2100, with US using GSM850/1900...but no 3G connection with the rest of the world.

Maybe the Americans did that on purpose to "defend" themselves from the terrorists...so they cannot video call each other for details on how to take down more buildings / airplanes.

> In reply to Kryptonite @ 2009-02-13 16:39 from R0Kn - click to readJust curious why didn't read all the comments about this phone BEFORE you made the purchase....and eventually regret what you did?

I paid US$250 for my unit last June, which I thought the deal was "ok", given I've other "media monsters" to serve my other needs.

My Z8 works as a "phone"....even less media than my Z3. (now in the shop again!)

You know what lets all be honest about the z8..all of you including myself..the only cool thing was the kick slide feature, sound and colour of the phone..other than that. It is a piece of junk. I sold mine yesterday near to nothing to what i paid for it. I am now getting a SE f305..lets hope that is gona be better.

You know what really disappointed me, this phone has a new, newer seen design and I thought that it would have everything, now when I got the phone I immediately went on gsmarena to check out the phones specs and I'll tell you the honest truth, my heart sank to my belly, it was a really a disappointment. I had this phone for exactly 4 days and then I sold it, I couldn't live with that disappointing phone. Well I have a samsung u700 and a Motorola w510 and I'm saving for either the Nokia 5310 or the 5610, i haven't decided which one yet.But that z8 was a real disappointment.

The Good
Good Point; The display is very good when playing videos (3gpp, mp4).

Next Good Point; the speaker is loud, clear and clean.

Next Good Point; video recording is extremely good, this phone records QVGA video in 3gpp format 29fps!! Most phones record video at 12 to 15fps so for this phone to record at 29fps is pretty good.

Next Good Point; this phones design is amazing and is a certain sight. Motorola went all out with this phones design.

Next Good Point; this phone has a good battery life and this phone can USB charge, some phones can’t do that, sad right, I know.

Next Good Point; well, it’s a quad band 2g phone with 3g but as I said before, the 3g can only work in Europe and some of those eastern countries.
It might have some more good things but I am not able to think of them now.
