I am using Motorola E398 which look like same piece, in this new IPOD I would like to tell that it should be great news if you add extra features like FM, video and music "as well even E398 has great sound system with music" and I would like to exchange if possible to IPOD

after reading all of the opinions, i will say good on you motorola!!! they are aiming for the lower end market (this phone is probably half the price of the K750i). it will be a affordable alternative to the K750i so i think that they have done something right here. as for the camera only being VGA, if it was megapixel it would cost more to make, then the consumer would end up picking up the extra cost. all i ask of this phone is that it DOES NOT have that dodgy recharger connection. anyway my opinion, good job!!!

Its only the first one! Think about it. First iPod..how much space like 5GB? Bet you wouldn't wanna use that now. Everyone all over the internet is thinking that "this phone stinks" but almost everyone fails to understand that this is the first.

This phone is CRAP! It's the same E398 with a 512Mb card (takes at least 1hour to copy 500Mb from pc->phone) and a new firmware (still buggy, still not user friendly). Low quality camera, low JBenchmark score and now you must use iTunes every time you want to transfer music. My serious advice is to buy a SonyEricsson K750 instead if you don't need 850Mhz band.

this phone looks cool. very cool. just VGA? kinda outdated man. moto can do better than that, i'm sure they'll come out one with 2 megapixel soon.this phone ? unless in the range of $200 US, otherwise, won't sale. VGA? no FM radio? only 512mb? not gonna work. should come out with 2 megapixel, radio, 2G max then it will fly

Oh, and beside there will be Nokia N91 with built-in 4 GB hardisk down the road.
P.s. iTunes might works great with the iPod
,but for the phone is like having the Walkman menu in W800 or the Real player in Nokia headset. Other phone can already played mp3 without iTunes.

Well, first of all, it looked crappy.
Would it be a better idea if Apple designed the phone itself? Just look at how they designed the iPod Nano. It was phenomenal.
The K750i/W800i w/ better camera, better design, and 2Gb of memorystick duo are now available will definitely blow ROKR out of the water.
IMO people will buy it because it has iTunes
and the Apple support, but honestly there are lots of better choice out there.
P.s. Forgive my poor English >

Motorola the best...yeah right
-------------------------------
Motorola is a well known brand, but I think it's popularity doesn't go beyond the US. Motorola phones in Australia have a name to them: cheap and average quality.
Even the RAZR is HUGE, it's flat but still the dimensions are too big for what it can offer.
Motorola cameras are shocking! The VGA are bad, and the A/E1000 1.2MPx camera wasn't worth calling a camera.
All in all iTunes and Apple must have aimed at the American market with this little "gadget".
The japanese (and Europeans by now) have their own network providers who service them with music downloads by Sony (DoCoMo & Vodafone KK).
And all you pay for in this phone is the name "Apple", "iPod", etc...
The music quality will be probably the same as any other mp3 player...

If Nokia and the other companies are so great, why couldn't they come up with an IPOD phone. You see, ITUNES and Apple only wants to deal with the best in class. Motorola products are great, that's why MOT stock is going up, because more and more people know what's the best. This is just a beginning for super cool gadgets Motorola will offer.

just to back up the fact that i think Moto and Apple SUK in this instance is because the phone is absolutly rubbish.... Ok maybe put it in a 3g version of the v3 with a 2 mpixel camera now that would impress.... I have a 6680 that blows most phones out of the sky at the minute. I used to sell mobiles for CPW and the fact that moto aint changed there menu system from the v500 is really sad..thats what let the v3 down too... Pity moto aint got something original

MARKETING: Vodafone has the advantage.
---------------------------------------
After reading the article it doesn't surprise me that this phone is a let-down. After all, the specs are average and the name and "reputation" where supposed to drive this model...which isn't happening. But it's like everything else, even in the mobile business.
Why wasn't the W800 released simultaneously with the K750i...it's all about business and marketing.
The ROKR has too many good intentions blocking its success. Vodafone on the other hand has successfully bridged some of these obsticles with their 3G Network and Sony, that Apple and iTunes don't want to/ cannot cross.
Both Vodafone and Sony are collaborating as a music business and through that can provide the Chakuta Music Download. Full MP3/ACC+ tracks for a few dollars that you can set as ring-tones and that, different from Apple/iTunes, are provided by the Network Provider and Sony.
Apple and Motorola are both big players, but have a third player that is in the way when it comes to ring-tones & profit: The network provider.
In the first two months of Chakuta's release in Japan, millions of songs were sold and though they are exclusive to the 3G Markets in Europe and Japan (and soon Asia-Pacific) they fulfill these objectives:
- Full tracks that can be set as Ringtones
- Downloadable to the phone straight off the net via WCDMA (UMTS)
- Can be transferred to SD-Cards and hence are portable. Expandable memory to up to 4GB (SD, miniSD).
- Exclusive, cutting-edge, mobile technology provided by Sharp, Toshiba & Sanyo.
And if you have ever owned a Sharp or Toshiba 3G handset, then you won't find too many differences in music-quality to Apple. They are just mp3 players after all.

I LOVE MOTOROLA SO MUCH! They keep coming out with crappy hp to make them look stupid! Is Motorola too poor to employ better designers and engineers? Wait, I got it now, the CEO designs and develop the hp himself. :D
All the employees at Nokia/Sony Ericsson/Samsung etc will be having a laugh now till X'mas and beyond by yet another self-pwned
antics Motorola. Motorola must be trying very hard to get out of the cellphone business!

this is just an enhanced version of E398, with Transflash and iTunes throw in, nothing special abt it. it only makes u wonder why it took so long for motorola to launch this hp with such little improvement. could it be becos of the buggy s/w which need testing, testing and more testing? lol
