Motorola iRock/ROKR E1/E398 with iTunes
Review
This device puts the power of music to go, but note that
this phone shows no significant differences between E398, but
the obvious software embedded, iTunes.
This phone is NOT an iPod, but has Music track lists similar,
to and iPod, and iTunes.
An iPod has about approximately 200mhz, to power up the mini-
hard drive, and the output sound. Though, this runs on about
approximately, under 100mhz, that is enough to produce, basic
PDA functions, cellular use, and minor Music output.
Pros:
Portable, like an iPod, sound quality is unbelievable, 3D Stereo
output (Speaker Phone)
PDA functions, and serves as a Phone.
iTunes, embedded.
Cons:
Sound, vanishes in crowded places (via headphones only)
accepts TransFlash, that only goes up to 512MB
VGA Camera.

paul, because microSD only has 512MB out. I'm pretty sure when 1GB is out, it should be able to support it.

firt of all,the design is just the same as E398,so there is nothing new in the design,its not interesting anymore! the second thing is why did they leave the camera the same,its still VGA,all they added is video and itunes and more colors to the screen!!!!!!
i expected more from motorola,like some inovations and some new designs!!
its not like its a bad phone,it looks nice and all,but it just can't compete with SE K750,or W800! it just can't!!

No no no no!!!! this is not done. a music player phone that can be upgradeable upto only 512MB. This is really stupid. Why don't these guys make phones that can supports a minimum of 2GB man????Peace

Motorola ROKR really rocks...........i am a regular nokia handset user..........but now i am bored with the same old stuff in it........i hav used both moto and nokia handset and found that moto has got a better sound quality speakers...........if u r lookin for features than nokia should be your choice.........and if u r lookin for quality than nothin beats moto............motorola was the first company to introduce cell phone

This phone is just made to rock. all those who have said that this phone sucks n that sony ericssons or the nokias r better than this have not used a motorola as of yet, I suppose. I have used and heard the sound quality of both sony w800 n the other nokia mp3 phones. But they just cant match up with the sound quality of the motorola. I already own a E398 and have actually compared it with the SE K750i. E398's sound quality is far better. Apart from the music features the signal reception and the voice clarity of E398 is awesome. So it is natural that the ROKR E1 will inherit these traits of the E398. All those idiots who have posted saying that the ROKR E1 sucks have no idea of what the ROKR is going to be. And since it is being released in collaboration with Apple, White has to be its color.

lolxx... i thought Ipod will make a really cool phone.. i read the opinions here and 80% says it suk.. personally i still prefer walkman phone.. this phone is not really better compare to W550/W600... even though W550 only 256 MB, they are HTML browser, 1,3 Megapixel camera.. what about games? i dunno about motorola games though.. But W550 already have the dedicated game buttons and can play it in PSP style (for a phone which is supposed to be a walkman phone or music phone?). The camera also a has flash on it.
i even can say that W550 is better than this phone haha... i think almost every feature that this phone has W550 also has it except the memory, others W550 more than this.

u people dont know a good phone when u c 1, whats the point of carrying a phone and an mp3? thats the whole point in this phone! apple and moto hav got it rite, they dont "suk"

i hav an iPod. wen i heard an iPod fone was cumin out i thought cool but wen i heard it was moto and not Sony Ericsson well that just suks dont it?

well iriver and all that crap mp3 players are HUGE if u want a tiny thing try and ipod nano,or a descent ipod 60gb, for teh same size, than a super huge and overpriced iriver with that horrible service and software.

if youre dissapointed by this phone, wait a while for the 3G version. It's rumored to sport an ipod-like scroll wheel, along with video calling and probably a 2MP camera.

I don't get it: What was Apple thinking to allow Motorola mess with 'the ipod idea'. The iPod is stylish, strong and easy to use. None of this can be found in this phone. First of all it's plain ugly and looks no way near the iPod. Second the iPod is extremely easy to use, which can not be said from Motorola. Clumsy and complicated menu's.

Hmmm,
I wonder what has been improved over the E398?? I mean, is there anything in terms of quality, because other than that it's identical with the old brother...
Motorola's V and E series are very much only 3 or 4 base models, from then on everything gets duplicated with minor improvements...like the V5 and V6 series.
This phone will find it's owner I think, but in no way is it going to replace an iPod unless you can upgrade it to at least 2GB of SD memory.

This phone has already been on sale for the last 2 years! It is the Motorola e398 painted white with new firmware and an extra button ... what a joke!

and one more thing guys.... why doest i-tunes make everything ok... its rubbish!!! you have to keep a hard copy on your pc!! taking up more space.... Iriver 20g plays video and is better value! apple and moto both suk!

why would anyone ever waste their money on this piece of crap! come on people this phone was out in uk last year with black eye peas loaded onto it to try and sell it... it didnt sell then..... Buy a cheap pay as you go phone and an i river.... much better option!

Get the nokia 6680 or 6630 (very loud phones!!) whats the difference in having itunes or normal mp3's downloaded from the computer to phone by either usb or memory card reader. Motorola are going back in time and not forward.
P.s this phone has a nice megapix camera (JOKE!!!)
