I has 2 units Motorola E8. I never repair my Motorola E8 because doesn't have any problem with 2 units my Motorola E8.
The RKR is a great phone when it is working properly. Seems everytime I turn around though something is wrong with it. Good thing they come with a year warranty, you will need it. I have had my phone 8 months and have had it repaired and/or replaced 4 times. It's been at national as much as I've had it. Lol.
i have always thought that the 3G thing on this phone is dead...lol...why would people keep insisting on phones to have 3G...haha...would they really need it??? maybe yes... i have my brother's se k610i...of course it has 3G, but it was never been used...why??? subscription is very high...so pls stop this 3G thing... rokr e8 is a music phone...not a super computer,,
In my country; 3G Signal is really hard to find and not all area support 3G Signal; nearly 2 years in my country already begin 3G technology.
In Australia nearly 5 years already has 3G technology but 3G Signal still Lame and expensive.
For now 3G technology for mostly people just for trend but they mostly doesn't use 3G feature. Only for data? Only for talk? What waste technology.
My prediction; you can believe it or not. In 2 or 3 years in the future; 3G technology will died. Why? Because WiMax and LTE already start in some country, Laptop / Notebook with WiMax already in the market, and Laptop / Notebook getting small. WiMax / LTE will be more cheaper than 3G, more powerful than 3G, more faster than 3G, more area (i read somewhere, until 50 km per WiMax) than 3G, more feature than 3G.
In the future; people will choose Laptop / Notebook with WiMax than Mobile Phone with WiMax. Why? Because Laptop / Notebook will hold more time than Mobile Phone.
Stuart, 21 Aug 2008Many thanks for your support jjsoviet.Same to you.
Stuart, 21 Aug 2008Fully agreed with you about 3G services !!
I've got another 3G phone but until now the 3G f... moreCorrect. I commend your accuracy and reasoning.
3G is nothing but a new data and communications feature which is not applicable to all countries. Also, it is another battery-draining feature that only some people tend to use worldwide.
Anonymous, 20 Aug 20083G in Australia; mostly just for calling because video call still expensive.
3G in Indonesia;... moreFully agreed with you about 3G services !!
I've got another 3G phone but until now the 3G feature is still not being used or subscribed. Don't get me wrong, 3G network is still considered good & useful for SOME - those that require this particular service BUT I don't think it's useful for everyone. A person will need to "subscribe" to 3G network if:
1. You need to be online at anytime, anywhere for internet & email access. Believe me, this is a really important person. (For those of us mostly sedentaries, who can wait until we get to a free WIFI hotspot or home to access to internet, then we don't need to pay or subscribe to a 3G network.
2. Video call is important to their livelihood. Example, for engineers / technical guys moving around a big factory or travel to sites with matters or visuals to report to HQ so that others could view the problems or happenings - definitely the 3G service. If you just want to chat on a 3G video call service, unless you & your friends could spare loads of extra dough, forget it. What you get is to look cool in front of others but you also make the telcos look more cool in their bank.
In my country, monthly 3G subscription cost about 100 bucks depending on speed and mostly with a contract of 2 years. Is it worth it? My personal opinion - NO. For video calls, you'll still need the other party to have a 3G phone and subscribed to it. If not the video call won't happen. Furthermore, nowadays phones with 3G, bluetooth or even wifi, music player, high resolution camera with flash are in high demand. UNFORTUNATELY these features could drain your battery out faster than ever. If long talk time is what we are looking for, just make do with whatever we need, not what the trend needs. I came across a friend who actually thought 3G phones are faster (connection speed) than normal 2G phones. That's a joke alright. Since 3G is just a network service, it doesn't provide any advantages on connection speed or signal strength improvements. Buyers are looking at 3G phones like it is a new "must have" feature in a phone and resellers are using it to push their sales up. Some say it's a new generation of technology feature in mobile phones. I agreed with that and 3G has its use - for those who really need it to help in their daily work or livelihood.
Still need 3G? Subscribe it only if you know what it does for you otherwise just skip it.
3G in Australia; mostly just for calling because video call still expensive.
3G in Indonesia; mostly 70% just for 3G Modem.
3G in Singapore; i go there every 3 months, i never seen they use 3G technology like video calling.
I don't think 3G technology is really important.
