Was my first phone also. Bought Oct/Nov 2001 in Lagos. It had a unique ringing tone that sounds so gentle when you're close but can be heard over a very long distance (you'll hear it from the room upstairs with room door closed.
I once lost it at Alaba International Market, but the shop owner who had seen it with me (he also had same and valued it so much) rallied round and the phone resurfaced.

Some one gave me a Motorola TIMEPORT 250 to use while I am in Europe. Unfortunately the language is set to Chinese.
Could some one, please, tell me the steps I need to reset the language back to English? Thank you

The first mobile I bought. I loved and love it still. It has a quick - one button voice note function that is very handy indeed. smiles, doug

I got this phone from a friend who got it as a bundle in 2002. It is my first mobile phone and it still works like a charm. I like this phone very much and I still use it every day.

I bought this phone while stationed in Italy. I have used it since 2001 and continue to use it. Other than the fact that it came with the User's Manual in Italian it still works great and is virtually indestructible. I have used it all over America and still take it back and forth to Europe.

i've been using one of these phones since 2000,(admittely not my main phone all the time tho), and apart from 2 slightly sticky keys, it works perfectly. Its built well. yes it doesnt have the latest gizmos, but its perfect for my
need, why would i replace it if it still works ??

and yes, is it a coincidence, that people who own this phone are reluctant to get a new one? I think, to some extent this Motorola has set a standard, what a decent and functional phone should look like. Now we are offered multitude of strictly speaking useless features, while those, that we need most are totally ignored by manufacturers and therefore absent. Some users wonder, why subsequent Moto's phones don't have such convenient voice functions at hand... so do I... that's why I can't decide which new phone I should buy - nothing compares to this... yes, it's big, the menu sux, and it does not have a colour screen :)) but who cares.. original battery, after having been worked for 5 years improved !!! and now can hold 2-3 days. I dunno what happened :) Nor have I any idea what handset should I choose in the future... even if I buy anything I'll definitely use this one as my second phone. But I fear there'll be nothing that simple and at the same time sophisticated as this Timeport. Rispekt, Motorola, thank you for my first and probably last phone in life.
;))

Me too :) I've been using this phone since 2003 feb. (I bought it from a guy, who'd had it for 2 yrs already), it's still perfect, works like a charm, good recipiency in bad conditions. It was meant as a business class phone and it's been working as such for so long. I like voice recorder and answering machine functions, and if I buy a new phone some day, I shall definitely look for smth. that would resemble this, I dare say, masterpiece ;)

I am using the Timeport since 5 years. Like all Motorola phones I used before it is very rugged and simple to use. You can talk in very fringe areas where other phones do not work anymore. Exceptionally good phone!

Worst phone i've ever used. The paint on the digits started disappearing after four months, battery life was a disappointment, and it was completely dead after 10 months, menu is completely anti-user-friendly. Motorola=crap.
