> In reply to JaY E8 @ 2009-02-20 22:49 from q{QQ - click to readI was just trying to help....

I just like Moto phones and worry its mobile phone division maybe sold to someone else, hence I started to "collect" Moto phones last year (more than ever), that's why I ended up with more than 14 Moto phones in less than 12 months.

Though if someone else still owns a U9 and can answer all the questions, I wouldn't mind to shut my mouth in the U9 forum from now on.

Actually if you or anyone else can share more on every other Moto phones, I wouldn't mind to shutup at the other forums here.

Can't believe someone trying to help gets bashed here...

"100 MOTO" you obviously are a moto rep for a call center as no level 3+ techie would waste there time for this unless moto is paying you for the help...i wanna know if motorola gave rights to the sp's to override the ringtone section for play of dcf only as i'm sure you know what a dcf file is *DAMN ENCRYPTIONS*...also will bitpimp work for overiding sp's CRAPPY mp3 players AKA rogers player

You can tell me how to send a message because when it s ready to be sent appears "enter number"and it is more simple to choose a contact from phone list, but i dont know how to do that?

this is like the best phone ever.. i had this phone for about 5 months and lost it i cried for days lol ...jk jk ..i had the black version ..super gothic man the phone have a very nice display quality... but small ...the audio from the headphone is mind blowing when set right touch feature works very good no glitches the down side is its moves slow you cant rush the phone to do tings fast and soem how you cant turn off the anoying click sounds for the camera but there is a update firmware to fix that other than those downfalls the phone is good...it looks cheap and fragile but trust me I had soem serious falls from stairs the bear hard roadside walkway and to getting soaked in the rain...and was working still good buy 8 / 10

Last nite I was talking with my friend who is using U9...couldn't tell he was in the (Chinese New Year special) night market (with lots of people yelling!) until he told me so. Crystal Talk + flip design still offer the BEST voice quality than any other phone on the market!

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-01-02 07:02 from jQth - click to readI've not used U9 before but since it's Linux, same as my previous V8 and my current E8, you can try if this procedure works. (Just another way of applying your music as ringtone)

Select and play the music you want to set as ringtone, while the music plays, at the bottom of the screen select "Option", then select "Apply to", then press "Ringtone".

Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I can play the mp3 files using the phone but when i go to settings, profiles, and then try to choose a mp3 ringtones, it doesn't list any of them. I also tried making the length of the mp3s to less than 30 seconds but to no avail. It only shows the preloaded .dcf tones. Do you think fido blocked this feature of the phone so that people can buy their ringtones?

Let me know if the problem persists.

I have a rokr u9 through Fido. But it's not recognizing mp3 files for ringtones. All the preloaded ringtones are in .dcf format. Any idea how i can use my own ringtones?

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-12-28 10:01 from vpcJ - click to readBoth offer cleary voice quality as a flip phone with Crystal Talk. Major difference is U9 supports external memory card of up to 8GB (according to my own experience, it works), while V8 only has 2GB "internal" memory.

Then if you need a large external screen with photo caller ID, V8 is better than U9.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2008-12-22 23:05 from ixct - click to readPersonally I don't think a black U9 is girlish, as I used one and now is in the hands of my friend (as I can't live with his "capture all the background noise" phone...of course with U9's Crystal Talk, now I can hear everything he says no matter what the background is)

My friend is a guy...and yes, my wife is using K3!
