This was my first phone, too. I loved it. It had great functions for those years wap browser, fm radio. But after 4 years of use(2001-2005) the battery life time was ... 2 hours. I've miss it now. V2288 rulz

I have been with my moto since february 2001.I love this phone.I really tried to resist buying another one till technology hit me in the face and i had to grudgingly go to shop for an LG. but the moto spirit keeps nagging me so am thinking of buying a moto V360.fortunately here in Kenya you can have many cell lines, well, depending on your finances.
I still use my v2288 for my second cell line. I like it coz of the loud ringer tone. i guess there is no other phone with such a ringtone that no matter the level of noise in your sorroundings, you will definitely hear your phone ring.i guess that covers for the absence if vbration.
One feature i like about the v2288 is the quick access menu. with two button presses you can make your phone silent especially in meetings or something.
I guess my first love phone was the best. Thanks moto!!

:) I'm reading your comments and I'm suprisied how many of us has this mob as first one! :)
It was very heavy and really robust but I've enjoy it!
Worst 'feature' was not haveing built-in clock so I didn't know when somebody calls if I had missed calls. Now, it is funny to remember all troubles because of that! :))
But first one could never be forgot!

my first phone too! sadly got stolen in a house burglary, and i've been searching for its make for over a year! i plan on buying another now, just for the memories. i went from this to a motorola t191, then nokia 3510i, siemens sf65, sony ericsson w750i and now onto my lg chocolate white. bit of a technology shift!

Nostalgic memories, this phone gave me. I still have mine sitting in my drawer. Pity i left the batteries in it for too long and now it won't turn on lol.

My 1st phone this was, loved the funky covers. Very robust too! Dropped it down a long flight of stairs, and it landed facefirst, and it STILL worked!

Pity it didn't have a clock though LOL. Might try find new batteries for it, and use it one day, just to turn heads on the street lol.

This was my first phone (back in highschool - 1999 ish i think) and I absolutely loved it, the radio, the fun covers - won't hear a bad word against it! memories! of course it is huge and feature-less by todays standards...but still, good times good times!

this was my first phone ever. i enjoyed using it because of the fm radio feature, even though it's the only feature. i'm not using it now because the lcd monitor got destroyed. now i'm trying to fix it so i can use it again.

this phone was great! if available in the future as a 'comeback special' in color with built in camera, it would be a hit!

This phone only lasted me a little under a year. Crap batteries and features. Only got it as it was the only pre paid available at the time that had WAP! Oh my have times changed. The radio was a novel feature.

Nice phone, strong radio but its problem is it has no clock, alarm or games and makes it a bit inconvenient. I dont recommned it for first time users, too complicated. Battery life is really bad.

One of the best phones i've had. I still have it packed up somewhere - gone through 2 nokia's and an LG since the v2288. Still get it out between phones. It does the job! lol
