I couldn't give this phone away if I wanted to. It drops calls constantly. I can't have a converstation with someone without it hanging up at least 5 times. I have run out of patience with it. I'm getting a new phone. I went against my better judgement and strayed away from Nokia's because Motorola's are more attractive. But it is not worth it. Nokia is by far the best!! Despite what carrier I have it always works. I have owned 2 motorola's and the other one did the same thing.

i have had this phone for about 4 months now and i must say this is the best phone i have ever had. nice framerate, clear pics, web browser, etc. The live ticker ability is compatible with this phone which tells you what you need to know at times such as sports updates, weather and whatnot. This phone has to have something like a magnesium reinforced rollcage because this thing can take its licks. no dust behind the screen. i dunno about you guys but if you want to increase your battery life run your phone to the brink of being dead and charge it up entirely overnight. it extends the battery life each time that you do this. It is best to unplug it as it gets done charging to prevent overcharge. while trying this with your phone do not continuously unplug your phone while charging, the battery will record the charge level and it will not charge to the maximum limit the next time it is charged. in a nutshell this phone is the greatest and my battery charge will last me 41/2 days!

I have had this phone for about a week now and I like it a lot so far. It has a great feel in hand, the buttons are nice size, it is very user-friendly and it is durable. I am pretty rough on phones and this puppy can take it.

It's pretty good. I've had it for almost a year and haven't had too many problems. But what I don't like about it is: the battery doesn't seem to last long enough; it's heavy; it's slow (the search function is slower than the user such as when using the short cut to the directory); I've never been able to get the email to work properly; it bangs up really easily (mine looks like it's been through war); drops calls about once a week (could be service with Cingular and not a problem with the phone). Oh and the call log sort of sucks because it only logs the received last call not everytime that person called.
But the Pros are: clarity; picture screen; menu options.

Volume is way too low in both modes. Accessing the menu key is difficult at best. Using this phone as a hard core professinoal phone, leaves this phone with a lot to be desired. It perhaps would be of better service if it were used as a paperweight. But, frilly stuff sells and that is what everything is about, pizzaz over substance. I would gladly take my I710 back anyday. This phone reminds me of people who drive slow in the passing lane.

I like the phone quite a lot; it replaces a V551 that I dropped overboard a couple of months ago. The phone's worked great since then; no problems, no hangs, just works. Battery life is a little shorter than the spec says, but still very good.

One problem: When I'm dialing the phone or entering text messages, the DTMF tones are audible to anybody nearby. That is not only annoying (especially sitting in a meeting!), but a potential security concern.

If any of you know how to disable the tones when pressing the keys, while still allowing the tones to be transmitted during a call, I'd be grateful to learn how. My wife's Sony-Erikkson lets the tones be replaced by simple, soft keyclicks or even turned off entirely (but still transmits them during phone calls).

Thanks

I did the same thing and replaced a Razr with this phone. Had the dust issue on the display ( and I kept it in a case ) and I couldn't hear out of the earpiece. It was the second Razr....first had the keypad lighting go out. I got the V557 which seems a lot more rugged and I like it much better already.

I like this phone. Good sound volume. (I had to get a replacement from Cingular because the first one lost it's sound volume after about a minute into use. Cingular didn't give me any problems replacing it). Limited ring tones, I guess they want you to spend a bunch of money buying ring tones.

I love this phone.
It's rugged, calls are clear, and it has lots of good features.

This is the best cell phone I've ever had.

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to change the setting when you push down the phone symbol to see yor recent calls. When I push it down, I only get the dialed calls and not incoming and dialed calls. Thanks

well it's pretty much like the the V551 if not identical.
i had the same problem with the speker volume. the thing was cranked way up and i still had to press it against my ear to hear but alas my friends there is ways to over come thes obstacles.
i downloaded a P2K tool named Pktools and connected my phone via USB cable it which gave me acess to all settings. and turned the earpeice setting up to 4. now its much better but it seem to be like that for most vxx phones

Dropped calls, volume cranked up and barely being able to hear, and when pushing the buttons, it can't keep up when your typing in a number or text rapidly. Hard to explain that, but you'll see for yourself.

Some great features, but phone had too many problems. Within a few weeks of ownernship, screen would black out and then turn back on randomly, dropping calls, etc. Reseating the battery seemed to help, but only for a few days at a time. Bluetooth drops a lot too. Dissapointed since this was supposed to be the model that "fixed" all the problems in the V551.
