Before you decide you like this phone or if you want to get it, PLEASE just read all the opinions posts here it would really help your decision. This is probably one of the top 3 if not the best GSM flip phone in the world because it has EDGE internet connection, Megapixel camera, Memory slot, Bluetooth, and a flip phone. You are NOT going to find another phone out there with these criteria besides the Motorola A780 which is big and bulky.
I have posted here before that DO NOT get this phone if you dont know how to flash new software/firmware because the origninal 24R software is very buggy. People have changed the stock software to 6FR, 88R, 90R which will make this phone run like a champ. If you can't get new sofware in there then you are gonna face these issues:
1. slow responsiveness in buttons
2. white screen shows up once a while
3. Phone restarts for no reason
4. browsing internet is terrible buttons to
slow to scrow the contents.
5. sending SMS may cause screen to go blank/white
6. When you play mp3s with 192kps quality the phone will restart. It likes 128kps
7. Battery life sucks with orignal software
With the new software/firm ware which I have is 6FR. This phone is awesome, I have owned many many highend phones including PDA phones and Windows smart phones and I love this phone because its small and packed with features unmatched in the market today.
If you want the answer to some of the basics questions such as camera resolution or ringtones how about starting with the User's Manual. If you want internet settings go to your phone service provider web site and they will have the answer for that. If you want advanced technical answers go to howardforums.com and registration is free and you can make your V635 into whatever you want. The reason this phone even get 8.3 rating here because most people dont know what they are doing and just hate the phone and give it low ratings.

i got this phone unlocked and currently use t-mobile. Does anybody know how to acces th internet with the phone?

Seems like there is quite a lot of complaints with this phone, but somehow it doesn't put me off, it's the only phone I want, design is perfect and the features look just to my liking. I think the main problem is that some people are having problems with the processor speed, I saw a lot of complaints on crashing and one or two on slow operation. This may have been rectified at a later release because most people find it fine. Another thing to remember, if you had a faulty phone - you are more likely to spread bad comments about it than purposely going on the internet and praising it.
To get down to what I think, I think the camera quality is gorgeus in the sample photos (note that a lot of people did not find the option of resolution changing) and recording videos isn't something you get with every phone (and a flash!!!!). MP3 player is going to be very useful, no you no longer have to carry around a seperate one, but you can't exactly replace it, remember you can't expand the memory to more than 256MB, but it's probably good for day to day bus listening. The colour screen IS 256k not 65k, that is the outer screen, it was not clearly marked. Bluetooth is likely to be useful, I see a lot of people in school sending back and forth videos (not your average kiddy program mind you), photos and sending ringtones they bought. A bonus is that you no longer have to buy stuff, with USB connectivity *drag and drop* and so on... Thank god there is no direct internet button (or which I know of) I have hit those keys sooo many times when I've used other peoples phones. Looking forward to getting this phone for christmas and opening it in all it's crisp glory, and not exactly to make calls, it will be the first new-age phone I will have. No more b/w Nokias!

In your specifications, you said 256K colors and in the Motorola page, it says 65K colors, so please correct that info.

hey gustavo,the phone has a 10mp camera,bat unfortunatlly it's not better from k750...so don't buy this phone!And especially don'd read any of over 1000 reviews of this motorola,available on the internet....:-(((

The reason why you are taking 300 shots at low resolution is because you've never changed the resolution in the camera menu. If you take time to check your phone, you'll realize there are different resolutions you can choose from, one being the 1.2 mp res.

It's unbelievable how many people complain about this phone. Reading the comments, it's pretty obviouse that there are many people that are not technically savy as their problems are mostly due to the user's service provider and thier inability to comprehend the phone's menus and options. PLEASE do some research before you complain. I have the v635 and it is by far the best flip phone on the market. I've had NO problems with it and have had it for five months. If you can't handle a phone like this one, then save yourself the frustration and get a simpler phone. Cheers.

i dont like the fact that it has lots of space under the keypad for no reason (if u get the bit i mean) but all motorolas have that, dont they. Other than this, great fone not had any probs with mine.

I agree with the long winded post by Joe on Nov. 21/05. This model doesn't live up to it's hype.
1) They say is has a 1.3MB camera. Well I've taken at least 300 shots and have never been able to get an indoor or outdoor daylight or night photo to register more than 400K
2) The internal speaker (not the speakerphone) sounds like people are talking to you thru a pillow...very muffled. Compared to my old Nokia (which had an EQ feature and lots of volume), this phone is dreadful.
3) Editing a number in your missed calls box is not possible unless you save the number to the memory. Who needs that frustration when you're rolling down the highway at 70+.
4) They make you pay for interface software that is probably the worst piece of junk I've ever used with an electronic gadget.

I just bought the v635. The memory stick would not show in the phone and it crashed 2 times on me....is it know problem?
When i turn the phone off and back on again, the memory stick will show. storage devivce.

if you are not phone savy then this phone is not for you because the original software have bugs and crashes. if you know how to flash new software or firmware and know p2k programs with seem editing volume then you will have the perfect flip phone.
