looooong address.....
to keep it simple, check your own XT800 (be careful, XT800 has several version such as XT800W / Glam), the page you are referring to is for XT800 with dual sim (CDMA and GSM)
steps:
1. check your version of firmware, and download the update package as listed on the website.
2. unroot (if your unit is rooted), load back to its original firmware (with out GMS installed and not rooted)
3. rename (not unzipping) the update package to update.zip
4. copy the update.zip to your sd card (not under any folder, just the sd card directory)
5. turn on the phone, hold power + camera and search button till the triangle appears
6. press volume up + camera
7. choose apply update.zip select it with the search button
8. your device is updated, now you can install the GMS and root your device (or root your device then install the GMS)

> In reply to Bakpau @ 2012-02-07 03:24 from uEAC - click to readThank you so much, it did work and it's the first tip that does after hours of searching.

About the custom ROM, I might have find a website where I can download it. Only (big) problem I have : it's in Chinese. Would you happen to understand chinese and be able to tell me if the files are indeed for ROM or not ?

Here is the website :
http://www.motorola.com/Consum...tPages/XT800

Again, thank you very much.

> In reply to Bakpau @ 2012-02-05 06:14 from uEAC - click to readHi,

I have a demo Moto XT800w that I got from a communication company.
I'm trying to enter it into recovery mode. I tried to use the keys combination mentionned in the previous post. I did get a triangle with a phone lying in front of it. From this point I could do nothing, no key combination would work to enter recovery menu. I can only press power again to reboot as usual.

Can someone know what I could do ?

As a matter of fact I'm trying to install a neutral ROM as the stock one goes with a lot of applications I don't use and don't manage to delete. They use a lot of memory and I can't get as much as new ones as I'd like.
I think stock applications come from a Korean communication company. A pink and orange T keeps showing everywhere in the phone.

Does someone know what I can do ? And especially where I can find a custom ROM that suits this phone ?

Thank you !

> In reply to Froggy @ 2012-01-31 09:39 from KGHq - click to readperhaps this will do,
press and hold them down: power + search + camera (all the way down)

then you'll get a triangle in the screen, release the three buttons

press and hold camera + volume up

if done correctly, there should be a menu,
to navigate up and down using the volume rocker,
to select, press search

tell me if that help.
