1. You need negative feedback ONLY by people who actually buy the phones and they realize that there are actual negative characteristics.
2. Positive "feedback" is permissible by anyone who HASN'T bought the phone as long as it is really positive...eg. of the type "wow, the best phone ever", or "Holy Jes@s, I am definitely buying this superPHONE because a 5MP CAMERA like this will serve my COMMUNICATIONS needs better"!!!!!

i would really like to kno how good the sound quality really is on this phone, the best quality without mods was the nokia n73 and it was real loud...what is the sound quality for the zn5 compared to the nokia n73???
100 Moto, 30 Sep 2008From my limited knowledge, some of the most expensive phones don't even support 3G...i.e. Vert... moreHi mate, just found out that the ZN5 will be selling at approx. USD 360 when they launch sometime these few weeks. The E8 is currently selling at around USD 285 in my country. So for about 80 bucks extra, I'll sell my E8 (1 month old) to a friend and get this. Gonna miss that morphing keypad and FastScroll Wheel.
By accident, I've got a chance to test the Crystal Talk technology again and my wife was impressed. We both were at separate noisy restaurants when I called her, heard all the "complimentary background noises" at her side but she can't really hear mine. Makes me feel great with this device.
Anonymous, 02 Oct 2008Assuming that this is a forum, most people expect to read about the PROS and the CONS of a dev... moreI agreed with your expectation on phone technologies especially for those who uses 3G in particular. Since this phone doesn't come with this feature (3G) that you are expecting, really, move on. Like I said, I'm sure Motorola would have thought of this when designing their model so if they decided to leave it out, there's nothing we can do about it. I know for sure you are not happy about this, I believe 100 Moto (owned 40 Motorola phone before) too as he's a dedicated 3G user (whole family using 3G), but I'm not. I don't think they (Motorola) will do anything at this point of time base on what we said here. jjsoviet is right, just wait for future models and I'm sure there will be one that suits you - if you still intend to buy Motorola by then. In my country, we have 3G network too and the ZN5 is launching this few weeks time, I'm looking at getting this phone and I heard the price is really reasonable. That could be the reason why they left 3G out, there's a possibility (my opinion) that they are eyeing to sell more using price factor, that's my guess. It's a nice phone though.
Anonymous, 02 Oct 2008Assuming that this is a forum, most people expect to read about the PROS and the CONS of a dev... moreYou have a point there. The ZN5 is not yet the best Motorola has to offer, but let's just wait for the future phones codenamed Skarven, Ruby, Attila, Alexander, etc. Do not jump to any conclusions yet.
Stuart, 02 Oct 2008Whatever you mentioned from your post could be true or could also be otherwise. Assuming it's ... moreAssuming that this is a forum, most people expect to read about the PROS and the CONS of a device. This is NOT the Motorola shrine where people can only bow to the grandeur of its engineerings feats. This is a forum where people can LEARN a few things written by people who KNOW a few things in this field. This is a forum where people's opinions should be accepted abd repected...This is the year 2008 and Japan is about to intoduce 4G phones so the omission of 3.5G (HSDPA) AND 3G`is UNACCEPTABLE! This is the year 2008 and a car using a carburator is UNACCEPTABLE regardless of the fact that a lot of people would not be able to tell the difference from fuel injection! This notion of progress is what humankind struggles for daily...and the ZN5 is NOT progress!...and I don't work directly or indirectly in any telecommunications field!
the phone is awasome. can anyone tell me abt its camera. there r three typre of flash. ome with full effect, other with a less effect nd the last will least effect. how to adjust the flash can anyone tell. PLEASE............
I do like some features of this phone, and YES i would like to see this device with 3G, I think that is a really poor decition not to include it for it's price.
I'm also from latin america.
What is the point of all the photos upload capabilities if you have a really slow network. turistic places here have 3g, but no wi-fi everywhere. There is no difference in the price when you transfer data w/or without 3g. why motorola, why?
FOR ALL ENTHUSIASTS,
Look at the angle of approach on many posts here, if we all analyze them well, we can see what's their objectives or motives. Are they from any one shown below?
1) Post comments to support this phone;
2) Post comments to help others on their questions;
3) Post comments to show off their knowledge & let everyone knows they know it all;
4) Post comments using the "professional" approach to directly or indirectly discourage others from buying this phone;
5) Post comments to totally "disfigure" this phone.
So please read comments carefully and you'll see where they are coming from (their motive). Remember, some posts are critical at directing people away from buying this phone making it unpopular. There're always posts from other makes' supporter or even Motorola's competitors - we won't know, so use your own discretion.

Assuming it's true, would you consider this phone? If your answer is NO, then move on to another with 3G - it's that simple.
guru, 02 Oct 2008this mobile is completely useless crap-no 3G,poorest video recording......The phone doesn't have 3G because the ONLY acceptable platform that they have in hand is the relatively new Linux platform...which CAN'T support 3G. Their older Synergy platform was lastly used on the V9 so that 3G could be employed, but it is getting to be ancient. They are dying to have a modern platform that supports 3G (like Nokia, Samsung, SE, and LG have) but...they can't do it. This is the ONLY reason that the ZN5 does not support 3G. The rest, about fosusing on China and USA, is extremely poor excuses!

On 3G issue again? Why not we put it this way, make it simple, for those who need 3G, go for another 3G phone. There's one thing I found out after reading the comments below, if anyone looking for a 3G phone and still making unpleasant statements here (ZN5's review site) knowing the ZN5 does not have 3G, it clearly indicated that these people actually like the ZN5 and their wish is that this phone comes with 3G. If not, they would not be interested to waste their time commenting here, better spend time commenting on other makes. The 3G debate will go on, different people different views. So nobody wins, go get what you want & be happy about it. I really respect 100 Moto's reason for using 3G, personally I don't prefer 3G for it's cost but that doesn't mean either one of us is right or wrong. It's what you are looking for that makes you happy in the end, no one knows that better than you. So if Motorola designed ZN5 without 3G, I'm quite sure they have their own reason. Some of you might not like it but hey, it fits me perfectly well.
@ 100 Moto
I'm back finally after "a break", (no internet & no business deals). I've briefly played with the ZN5 eventhough it's not launched yet (via back door) and found it really good. The 1st impression I got was the screen, the 2.4" size, the bigger icons & font size all fit me really well. The screen resolution is sharp and beautiful and yes, 100 Moto, you're right, the keypad feels really good too eventhough without haptics, it has nice feel on it when pressed. The sound quality is also good. Didn't make call to test voice quality but noticed the ear speaker opening is wider so the sound should be good instead of narrowish opening. I could be wrong about this but I found narrow speaker usually has less bass and sounds more tinny. The xenon flash reaches further than LED flash for night pictures but can't use as torch like the LEDs (turn on consistently for a minute or two). They are launching in the next few weeks and I'm considering buying it.(my E8's only about a month's old & I'm just starting to enjoy using it, got a friend interested with my E8, might sell to him). ZN5 is really a nice camera phone overall.
