I'm one of the user of NEC e238.. so far it's been a really good phone.. BUT, i was upset because i cannot save my mp3 as ringtones..

Well, this phone is also known as the NEC 728 (at least in Hong Kong, where I got it). It was disappointing when I found out that you cannot play mp3 ringtones, but can use it as an mp3 player. Camera quality isn't all that great, it may look good from the screen, but when its saved, it looks like crap. The video function is limited to between 30 seconds to around 40s. I was hoping for a stronger speaker, but at times its weak. Also, sometimes people on the other side experience 'echoing' of the conversation. Another point, this phone may 'hang' on occasion; just today, it stalled for a good 5 seconds. However, this occurs infrequently. I bought this phone for about $300 at the beginning of 2005. Given all the other new phones out there, I would not try this phone. Moreover, I find that in North America, the level of service and technology that makes these phones great, are not available.

to shookting,to record video for longer time you go to video mode,press menu then go to video file size,set as normal size.It can record in about 30 to 45 seconds.

Can anyone help out here??
I have the silver cable, and i downloaded and installed the USB driver as well as the NEC phone suit...
But when i plug the cable connecting the phone, nothing seems to be work... seems like not detectable!! I have tried on few computer but same thing happen... help!!

hey guys..
i just bought this phone about 2 weeks ago..
a rather reasonable price fer de features u get from this phone...
i tried transfering mp3 files into de phone using de infrared port..however they said that de file was too big...
so now i am searching fer de data cable..
can u ppl out there tell me where to get it n how much it will cost...
1 more thing...how can i use de mp3 file to be de ringtone...
really hope u guys out there can help me out.. really appreciate ur kindness...

To wen, U mean 3G phone?This model is NO. U have to understand that most of the phone (model & brand)is differ in spec in every country..though physically we see the same..some will put(i)at the end of the model series no. to distinguish the particular of phone spec..
