once again i must point out that the bluetooth on this phone is only compatable with a headset it isnt the kind of bluetooth that you can use to share things from other phones.it is quite annoying that the specs make out like it is proper bluetooth and also that whoever the salesperson who sold you the phone in the first place didnt inform you of this..it is very misleading and very unfair so if you have bought the phone and are not happy with its lack of bluetooth i would suggest you take it back and complain :)

I had this phone and all i had was problems!!!!! First bluetooth doesnt work...second mp3 doesnt work...third...picture message doesnt work...fourth how do you recieve picture messaging...
Otherwise it has got a good camera... infared works (but not many of my friends have got infared)... games are ok...
If you only want a phone to call text and video on then get this one but if you want bluetooth i suggest not to get it

all i can say is a poor workman always blames his tools ..i had this phone for 2 years and i love it but thats probly cos i had the gumption to work out how to use it properly.. if you dont like the phone its simple..sell it and get a new one!

the bluetooth on this phone is only campatible with an earpiece ..when you bought the phone this shud have been explained to you ..you can try infra red or buy a data cable if you want to transfer things between your phone and pc.

i got the programme for the data cable from download.com just type in your phone type and hay presto! and also if you dont have the cable just look on ebay mine was about £5 from hong kong and it works just fine :)

i have one of these phones and can not enable bluetooth or receive picture messages phoned virgin and they don't have a clue think the selling policy of this phone and advertising is miss leading to say the least

I have an e540 have pourchased the data cable but can't seem to find the software needed to take off the pictures. Keep trying Kens web links but to no avail. Can anyone tell me where to get the software from. Thanks

n411i what a pretty phone very comfortable in the hand dial is good and it takes pictures as well but when it comes to make use of the pics its another story there should be a USB cable to download to computer and the manual is I think in japanese for I cant understand it Think twice befor buying it

The e540 is rubbish the bluetooth doesnt work, and i can recieve picture messages. I`ve tryed going on the virgin website to ortherise my MMs, but they dont even no what the phone is. Get it sorted out!

I had this phone a while but could never use bluetooth...i went back to the shop and had many sent back and forth to me never seeming to work, BEWARE! IT MAY HAVE BLUETOOTH BUT ONLY TO HEADSETS! Otherwise ok phone if you are NOT LOOKING FOR BLUETOOTH!

Nec e540 is a good phone,but the problem i always have it is the bluetooth conection pearing with other phone as not been posible it alway indicate a code which i dont know please send the code to me.

Has anyone managed to get the usb driver/NEC mobile suite to work on Windows Vista or have an updated driver? Can't find anything on the NEC website. Tried existing drivers but they do not work.
