Kirsty, if you don't like the phone. Tough. I like it and personally think it is excellent. Why did you not research this phone in the first place. It is totally your fault.

Absolutely fantastic phone.... The I-mode on this is brilliant and you can now view ebay on the phone. Great for such a shopaholic like me. Camera really good aswell.

Ellie,
Thanks for your offer of assistance. I agreee it is a superb phone for the price, but I am still having difficulty in installing the Mobile Suite software on either of my pcs.
I have Windows XP on one pc. On trying to instal the software on it, a warning appears advising that the software has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatability with Windows XP, and that continuing the installation may impair or destabilise the system. I have not therefore proceeded any further using the disc. I have also tried to download the software from the NEC site several times over the past couple of weeks. Each time I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot download usb.zip from www.neceurope.com. Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found". This is despite using the link from the NEC site.

I then tried to instal it on a second pc, which runs onWindows Me. The software appeared to instal successfully on it. However, when connecting the phone to the pc using the USB supplied, and trying to download, I get the message "PHONE NOT CONNECTED." However, the connection is obviously is OK as, if the phone switched off , it powers on as soon as the USB is connected.

I have tried to get assistance at the 02 shop without success. They suggested ignoring the warning on the XP pc, and continue to instal. I am not willing to take up this recommendation. Why has it not passed the Windows testing?

Any help you, or anyone else can provide would be appreciated, as I am seriously thinking about returning the phone unless I get this resolved.

Thanks again

Hi, i still dont think people are crasping the concept of the price and functions here, i got one myself yesterday........and yeh i have been trying to sort the software out which is very tricky so will get on to customer services when i get in to work today and try and sort this out and let u all know how to do it. and yes i work for o2.....And now what do u expect for the price? the imode function itself when used properly is enough to warrant buying this phone....and i work with these phones everyday so what ones are worth having. any questions let me know? Ellie x x

Like Chris (28/12/05), I am having problems installing the Mobile Suite. I have installed the NEC mobile drive and software but when I connect the phone the computer still says PHONE NOT CONNECTED. The NEC suite just says that the phone should be the same language as the suite itself. I have also tried downloading the software from the NEC site in case there is a problem with the disc, but the software site always crashes. I have tried to instal on 2 pcs using XP and Me.
I have contacted O2 and NEC but they have been of no help.
I am getting rather frustrated. Can anyone help me?

I totally agree with what Ellie said.

One thing is... I do not work for O2 :P. I really want to work for them though. They're awesome.

Hi, i actually work for o2 and these phones are actually fantastic, u just need to take your time to learn how to use it. and realise bluetooth is for voice only (for pairing with a bluetooth headset) the infrared is just as good and i have sent many a mp3 ringtone to my sisters 411i from my s/e w550i. o2 are sellin them for only £59.99 now and if u trade in and old handset that still works with charger u can get a further £10 off. The imode is something useful for the future as well, just learn all the functions and realise the incredible price of this phone b4 u criticise it. x x
