need help, bought the phone off tigerdirect.com, when I put my sim card in, it says searching, it picks up all my phone numbers that were saved on my sim card but doesn't do anything else. I am w/ t-mobile and live in Texas, any advice would be nice... thanks...

I use one but its called N412i.
The phone is very well made but its hard to use it because the buttons are too small nd flat.
camera is not great and neither is the sound...

My God, I thought It was nice when I see it, but It's very hard to manipulate!!!! the most I hate of this phone is the camera, It doesn't work properly when night. it doesn't have a memory card also with a 28mb capacity space............ but the design is nice!! It fits my personality!!

NEC 949 cell phone with T-Mobile US anyone? I can use SMS but cannot visualize MMS and email but I should be able to. The phone is unlocked and should work anywhere in the world I am with a different SIM card. T-Mobile US does not seem to be able to help as the NEC e949 is not on the market in the US yet. Someone has the same? Can anyone help configure MMS and Email Services?

does anyone know what format of pics i can bluetooth up to my phone? I tried to tranfer .jpg pics with no luck...any thoughts would appreciated.

In S'pore this phone is known as Model N412i battery life last 2 and the half days its lack of memory card slot phone is slim and nice look keys pad not too good starhub is giving free with promotion........

I have a Nec e949 here, Vietnam. The battery doesn't last for a long time. It makes me angry if I have some important calls to work ! Furthermore, It doesn't have a card slot, and the memory inside is too small for me to store whatever I want. However, the only thing I like is that It's a super-slim mobile, even slimmer than Motorola V3.

this phone sucks! I've had one for a few months now and i'm really not happy... that battery is total crap... i'll be lucky if it lasts a day, and i really dont use it non stop... the phones also got A LOT of glitches and errors, for example, sometimes the phone refuses to acknowledge that i have received a txt... the browser also sucks... all websites are blocked and i can find a way to unblock them (little help?)... the only pro amongst a sea of cons is the fone is really really nice to look at, its incredibly slim and well designed... i wouldn't recommend buying this phone... its crap, crap crap crap...

I am at Pune, India and 'am using a BSNL postpaid connection. I bought the handset 10 days back. I am not able to download ringtones / MP3. Can anybody advice me what additional gadgets are required and how do I go about ?

Just got my e949 and found out that it won't work with my tomtom 700 gps , even though they both bluetooth enabled. any ideas how to make them work together?

Dear poster, I have e949/L1 and have Cingular service. Cingular Network uses 1900/850. This phone will pick up 1900 not 850 . My area we only use 1900. If your coverage area covered both, the phone would work but limited when traveling into 850 area. look at this map to see what you have.

P.S When I got my service the sales people at the store did know !!! So I showed them this site.

Wow, I have Cingular/1900-this phone has the BEST! - clearest calling, better that any of my friends phones! Need to get Tx(SMS) working any HELP? Can receive but not send.

To get the phone work with cingular all you need is go to network and select the band to
900hzm im not sure which band but it should work.

I purchased a NEC E949 on ebay as a Christmas gift. Seller stated that it would work with Cingular Wireless. It does not. Cingular is 850 MHZ. Any suggestions/recommendations to make phone work with Cingular. Seller will not exchange the phone.

I like the phone a lot - best phone I've bought (out of six).

To the person below. Use bluetooth or a data cable. Only two options unless you have internet capabilities.

Upload your own MP3 to your phone via bluetooth. Send/Push the mp3 from the computer.

On the NEC phone, goto
"accessory" menu, then
"bluetooth" menu, then
"voice/modem" menu, then
"pair new device" menu, then
Select "wait for connect".

Now send mp3 from a bluetooth enabled pc.

Note: Ensure at Bluetooth is ON under the voice/modem menu. I think it is set to OFF by default.

Hi,
I Just purchased the phone from ebay 1 month ago, when I try to charge it displays "battery over temperature please remove the charger" I remove the charger and turn on my cell and it displays "low battery, turning off" I can't turn on my cell phone anymore, any idea what's going on?
