> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-09-06 10:45 from Sa%D - click to readstandby (optimal conditions) - about 6 days, maybe a week if u hv a fairly new battery (dont forget these came out in early 2007)
moderate use - about 3 - 5 days. this depends on a lot of factors. how many phone calls u make, msging... i do about 10-15 mins a day and 15-20 txt msgs. there r a few major factors that drain the battery tho. 1st is if this phone cannot get a signal and it keeps looking for 1. this drains it a lot faster than when it is connected. another drain is haptic feedback. u dont rly need it but i keep mine on lvl5. this takes up energy and u cud turn it off to save energy. i hv med display brightness. this phone can get brighter under strong light so medium settings r fine. i dont play any games on this. games will drain the battery very quickly and the gaming experience for the most part has been poor.
listening to music - i use the headphones supplied and this can probably run for pretty much the whole day. i did not listen to music the whole day so im not certain.
as long as the display is off, it is either connected to a network or set to flight mode, the battery lasts a decent amount of time. if u want a phone with an outstanding battery life u need to look at philips phones.
if u r planing on buying this ur probably the kind of person who wants to stand out from the crowd. u shud be good with technology bcos even tho its a v basic phone, it has a v steep learning curve. also the os is stored on the sd card inside. to upgrade to another sd card u need to reinstall the os on the sd card. this is running a highly skinned version of windows ce. u wont notice it as windows except for syncing. syncing with mac is not possible. a few specs that were ignored was that this has about 64mb ram, no rom (its the sd card), and a 128mhz cpu. i was shocked to learn this bcos it runs rly smoothly and multitasking is incredibly easy, with no lag. the v few apps that it supports load fairly quick. furthermore, u must not be the kind of person that wants the newest technology. this phone was outdated the day it was released. all except 4 1 component and that is the touchscreen. it is the only company to hv ever used an optical touchscreen on a phone and idk y. optical is the best type of touchscreen ever put on a phone(i cud go into more depth if u want). it is more responsive than the capacitive touchscreens which r now bcoming comon. the 1st phone with a capacitive touchscreen was lg prada, followed shortly by the apple iphone and now almost all android phones hv it. while the hardware is multitouch capable, this phone doesnt support it. it was released before about 1/2 a yr b4 the first iphone. the company went bankrupt b4 they had a chance to update the os to support multitouch. it was rumored that neonode n3, which was being tested had multitouch. the last phone they demoed was the neonode n2.5 which was like this but with a much bigger battery, more chunky and futuristic design, aimed at the american markets.
RIP neonode

> In reply to selipo @ 2010-09-01 02:23 from tVjb - click to readi dont remember the websites. but the v few games that r compatible just dont work well. most of the time u need to use the d pad but u cant push it straight down so the only way to select an option is to touch the screen. and bcos the resolution and screen is so small, u usually miss what u were trying to tap. its ok at games that just require a 4 way d pad, but the graphics r like those v old arcade games and usually they r demos or they get boring rly fast. this phone is terrible for gaming.
anyway, u need a .cab file for the resolution. 176x220. if u want write down an email and i will send u a few games. but trust me, its not worth it.

> In reply to Red Kotta @ 2010-06-29 15:55 from PS6j - click to readu can upgrade to 32gb sd cards. but what u might not be aware of is that the entire os is stored on whatever sd card it is using. originally i believe it was intended for ppl who wanted to run different oses off of the device but it nvr progressed to that extent bcos of the limited developers and very limited budget.
anyway wat u shud do is go to neonodes website. find the n2 link at the botton right. then go to download latest software. connect the phone to ur computer by the usb cable. install the os onto the sd card that is already in the phone and then it shud work fine.
hope i helped

> In reply to NeonodeN2User @ 2010-05-29 20:20 from 00Ya - click to readThe official Neonode site provides no more updates. I have installed the latest firmware version (2.1.552.5) on mine, but what about future updates? if the answer is that Neonode has bankrupt, that not enough of an answer.
--> what more do u want? they updated the software many times and one of the reasons they went bankrupt was bcos of an update which supposedly prevented reception and then there was a recall. they updated their software much more than nokia has. also its been a while since they stopped selling the device. its no longer covered under its warranty so there is no point in supporting it any further.
"They should provide further support. Furthermore, what about all those people that are willing to buy N2 in the future? They won't be able to apply the latest version..."
-->anyone can update their phone since the download for 2.1.552.5 is still on their website (just harder to find now). another reason neonode went bankrupt was bcos they tried to expand too fast and ran out of money. hv u seen the neonode n2.5 prototype? that had a new os and longer battery life. neonode put a lot of money into developing their products. they still remain the only phone company to hv used optical touchscreen on a phone and thats what u pay for when u get a neonode. a unique product with great technology (even if it is now outdated)
