Blackberry storm is actually exclusive to vodafone subject to targets. It will be reviewed every three months. right now targets are being smashed so no worries for exclusivity loss

Get your facts straight! Therefore you wont need vodaphone - however the problem comes with no wifi.

In Australia the Storm will ONLY be available on a two year contract, there will be no outright sales to feed into resellers.

The Storm IS purpose built for Vodafone, like the other Vodafone phones.

"does anyone think that this phone will take the market by "storm" like the iPhone did? i think RIM are trying to keep up with apple..."

This phone sells well, especially in the current climate. The i-phone is a different barrell of monkeys altogether. The blackberry excells as a business/smart phone, but the i-phone is alot more focused on media. Overall the iphone probably is a more elegant finished product, but I think the target audience should be two totally different types of customers as the functionality is very different from each other, from the touch screen, the applications and the operating system.

''no wi-fi, rubbish''. The phone doesn't necessarily need wi-fi as an internet bundle (unlimited web browsing) comes with the contract. Yes it can be quicker but it is a very fast connection regardless (for a phone).

So far there hasn't been a particularly useful comment on the actual phones, just people berating carriers. I really don't care if your service is sub standard, I really would just like some feedback on the phone. From what I have seen, it is definitely going to fill a gap in the marketplace for trendyness vs use-ability. Blackberries are hands-down the best mobile email devices available. Windows mobile, symbian, and apple OSes have yet to work it out.

You can unlock the handsets.
All of you should get your information straight before you blast this phone or Vodafone. They are the best carrier I have ever been with and if I have ever had a faulty phone or any problems, they fixed them up straight away.
Shame on you all.

Give it two - three months, and there could be a turbo sim like on the iphone that allows different networks. However i am not guarenteeing this.

I do know a lot of data configurers who claim they will be able to decode the phone and therefore will be able to provide the phones unlocked - this will invalidate warrnetee - but if you want it to work on another network then so be it!

No wifi though is rubbish!

Andrea-- The blackberry storm will only ever be released on vodafone. It is an exclusive handset to vodafone.

There is also no way of getting this handset unlocked

After being with T.Mobile for years i left them to go to Vodaphone to buy 2 of there Blackberry storm phones . Big mistake the phones didnt work it was the worse phones i have ever had ,And then i had to phone there Vodaphone Department and was kept hanging on for at least 40.50min before i had a answer , and there staff training is second to none NOT ,went straight back to T.Mobile . Vodaphone and the blackberry Phone gave me nothing but greif for 4 days . Well done T.Mobile keep up the good work
