Poor camera and no flash ruin an otherwise promising product.

these r sexy business phones , so dont ask for flash or 3.5mm jack in this category. if these things r ur priority then look somewhere else..

Higher res with minor upgrade in battery mAh. Battery life will the biggest issue with anyone who have data plan. Then again, HTC can't put in a higher mAh battery without sacrificing the physical weight. Who want to carry a brick all day long anyway. Short term, res will be a problem until programmer update their program to support this resolution. They should have just stick with VGA.

> In reply to Myho_Yoki @ 2009-02-17 03:07 from 4x9s - click to readIn the past they always mentioned AGPS when they had AGPS but when I looked at their specs on their website I did not see them mention AGPS as they just mentioned GPS. Here on the Gsmarena site under specifications they also just mentioned GPS with no mention of AGPS well..

I have to say this phone really isn't impressive. Its better and worse than the first pro. I really liked the design of the first one but this one isnt cutting it.

And PLZ tell me this is gonna be like the At&T Tilt and that the screen tilts if u push it. If it automatically stands up like the n97, forget it. its such a horrible design flaw.

HEAVIER!?!?! No way. that sucks. a lot.
w/e. Maybe HTC will unveil some more interesting and better phones.

It is a great move to give the user a bigger screen to work with. Essentially here we have HTC Touch HD with a keyboard. The WVGA res is also an honest effort. Yet note that the pixel density and hence the effective screen resolution will be less than its predecessor HTC Touch Pro. It is debatable whether true high definition (1200*720 pixels) is needed on a 3.6 inch screen but my word, what a screen that would be!
Now I must move into the controversial. HTC Touch Pro 2 is no longer a phone. It is a multifunctional device (MFD). Standards are increasing rapidly. If one implements a camera in a high-end phone, make it a decent one, otherwise don't bother. The present standard on a high-end phone (MFD) is 5MP with flash. Video recording should be VGA;30fps. This nonsense about the unit being a business phone and therefore reasonable camcording and photography is not necessary is an excuse for putting substandard equipment on the device. In 2009 this deceptive behaviour is not on. Look! one's business may involve taking impromptu photos and videos. Furthermore, anyone who claims that this device will be used solely for office work is a liar. So HTC should desist from being stingy and put a reasonable cam with flash. Furthermore the 3.5mm jack should be there. Why on earth did they omit that? One of the reasons why Apple's I phone sold more than all the WM touchscreen phones put together is that they think of what the user would like and not what they the manufacturers like. If HTC want to sell more units they should stop making obvious mistakes. One more point: I hope this device is operational out of the box and doesn't involve tweaking the reg and all the other time consuming endeavours. Afterall HTC have had enough practice making touchscreen phones (MFDs).
They should be grand masters by now!!

I am surprised they announced it so soon. It has nice design and big display. But I guess multimedia performance will be bad because of bad drivers. Camera only 3 MP. Sorry HTC but N97 looks like better choice.

I am a great fan of Xperia, But pal, dont forget that the Sony Xperia was made by HTC... Come on man, this is just a prototype.. The real specs will hit around Nov'09(surely wit greater specs). Just like how diamond got more powerful wit the RAm update...

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-02-17 03:21 from p1%s - click to readI totally get your drift, but in broad daylight there is no need for flash. Most people in general take most of their pictures during the day, or a well lit area. I take plenty of pictures with my HTC HD, which doesnt have flash and it looks beautiful.

For those of you who don't like the phone because it lacks flash, i have a solution for you--dont buy it.
