Hold the navigation UP button and do a hard reset. This reinstalls the software and it works fine for sometime. also upgrade the ROM from http://www.myxda.com/xda-zinc_wm6_1.aspx. Hope this solves the issue

Hi everyone.

what is the procedure for replacing the battery of O2 Xda Zinc?

I have an O2 Xda Zinc which is used for 2 years. its battery is reaching end of life and I want to replace its abttery with another battery (which is fully discharged though new - bought 2 years back but not used at all).

My question is; If I replace the current battery with this new one which is discharged, will I lose my data on the O2 Xda Zinc?

Will greatly appreciate any help

Alternatively, is there a way to charge the spare battery (I dont have a cradle)

Hi.
I have had my o2 Zinc with windows 5 for a year and a half and its been nothing but trouble.Worst Phone ever until i installed windows 6.I had gutsful of it.It got to the point where i didnt even care if the new windows 6 download damages it.I was going to run it over with my car.It seems to be ok now but i must admit that i havent tried out all the options.I do think i paid too much for this monster.Cheers guys and good luck.

this phone isn't good at all...
sometime, it can't send a message...
sometime, the button were malnufunction...

HELP.....I am facing great problems with my phone...O2 Zinc..
1 Its loudspeaker switches on itself during a call...
2 Buttons sometime stop workin..All of them...
3 Sometimes battery lasts for 2 days sometimes it drains out in 3-4 hours and the devices switches off...
i am using windows 5.0 only which came with the device...i dont want to upgrade the ROM as in other windows the GPRS is not supported..
PLEASE Help..Thnx

Hi.!! Im having O2 XDA ZINC.Often my mobile is Switching Off. I think there may be a Problem with the Battery. Does any one know any shop, who sells O2 Accessories(Battery,Head Sets) in TamilNadu and Bangalore.

Iam using O2 XDA-Zinc since 6 months.
OS-windows 6.0
Complaints - Hangs atleast 3 times daily.I have to Reset everytime to get rid of it.this repeates when iam involved in busy work & this problem disturbs me alot.This is a major drawback,in the past i have used imate-jam and eten-x500,but never faced the hanging problem,I took O2 because of its Keyboard,good design and system configuration.
but iam not happy with its technical performance,Iam regretting I purchased it.

O2 manufacturers has to focus on this problem

I've been using the zinc for over a year, and it's been an excellent pda phone. windows mobile 6 runs perfectly, battery life is excellent, and the features are awesome!!!

my few (but nagging) issues:
1. o2 doesn't exist anymore, so i couldn't get my phone serviced even while it was under 1-year warranty. mwg apparently has gone in hiding, they request everyone to email them and then don't reply or even check their mail...terrible!!!)
2. some of the keys have become very hard.
3. call/hangup keys are quirky (i touch the screen to call/hangup these days)
4. plenty of bugs with a2dp (biggest bug: the phone plays audio on the loudspeaker instead of the headset, unless i reboot it! it will randomly again switch to the loudspeaker, and i have to reboot it again!) the wired port is excellent though.
5. my usb port ahs stopped working (it only charges now, data transfer has to be done over BT/using a card reader)
6. hot swap of memory cards has stopped working.

i would never recommend this phone to anyone right now, but i couldn't have got anything better for the price or even anywhere close (at that time, of course)

My XDA Zinc has become very slow.
Sometimes the bell doesnt ring when there is an incoming call. Other than that, there are several issue which can only be resolved if i restart my phone. Is there a soft available for re-installing this device. Do i need drivers for the wireless and camera ? Please help

This is one of the most disgusting phone that I have used in my last 9 years of mobile phone experience. Somehow in the last 15 months of ownership, i have managed to use it for 2/3 months without any issue...This phone has been a big trouble (believe me) from the very first day..it hangs, it dosnt connect calls, it shows zero memory, battery runs down...the problem is endless...anyway today finally i figured out that the company O2 dosnt exist anymore...my o2 misery story is endless and i have again given it for reformatting the software once again and just hoping that i am able to use it for sometime as insignificant returns of the $700 price I have paid...

Anyone experienced the same problem as me? Since ive changed my sim card, the phone always restart when i put it in my pocket... maybe its because ive charged it with usb (computer)... its unreliable... I think my phone turns off by itself so often, that i have to on it everytime i use it... im using WM6 now. Lastly... anyone have ever received the same messages frequently? i think i have received it 2 times a day for 3 days now... the message is the "misscall" message by the way. Is this a battery problem or phone problem? Should i change the battery?
