the cmd-j70 is the 1st phone i ever had, and i used it for 3 years before getting a new, modernised phone, the envy of all my friends; it had the internet, as well as a joy swivel mechanism on the side. for me it holds many sentimental memories!!
it is a well made, and though of phone!! i am proud to say that it was my first phone!! lol :)

This is one of my favourite phones..i remember that no-one owned this type of phone about 5 years ago in singapore.
I liked its poly ringtones, jogdial, and even the "monkey" game! Very simple and functional phone until I lost it in a cab during my biz trip to HK.
I am a user of P-series now.

to jona:
You mean the phone just switches off by itself?
1. Have you tried to clean the battery contacts? As the phone is not dust-proof, it will need some interior cleaning from time to time.Just slide open the back cover, take out the battery and clean its gold contacts carefully. A clean cotton cloth will do.
2. Maybe the battery has died out? In that case I doubt the availability of batteries for this mobile nowadays. :(

I've been using this mobile for almost six (6) years. I agree that this is possibly one of the best mobiles around for reliability. Dropped it about 6 times in its whole life.Never changed its battery, and it still serves me for a week (I am a medium user of this phone:at night I switch it off).I'm still using it right now! Wonder how long it will still work! Cya guys!

Summary: Awesome phone! The good: Been using it for the last 4 yrs. Dropped it lots of times, even had a car ran over it, but its still working!! Got too used to the thumbwheel. Excellent battery life, charge it every 3 days. The bad: Data cable not available. I used the pop3 email options got it working, but later my ISP changed their settings & I just couldn't figure out how to null out the IP address till I came across the superfactoryreset option. After 4 yrs of no probs, now I see some sluggish response and the time gets reset occasionally. Time to change. Probably go in for a SE m600 or a Motorola a1200 next!
