I purchased the Sony Z555 because it looked great and had everything I wanted. I had very good luck with my previous Sony phone and liked the fact that I wouldn't have to relearn all of the buttons. I have had my Z555 since Dec 2008, not a year yet. About three to four onths ago I started having alot of trouble. First, the buttons for call and menu are not working half of the time. I usually have to push them several times to get them to work. The menu button is broken in four places so does not work well and has also let dust in under my screen. I also have trouble with the phone turning itself off for no apparent reason. I missed a very important call because of this glitch. Of course, I didn't purchase the maintenance plan from my cell phone carrier so I am stuck with this phone for another year after Dec. It is a very poorly made phone and I would not recommend it.

If you want a good SE phone in this range, then the W300i or the Z550i will be good alternatives.

hey guys, i m sanu frm orissa.i saw se z555 very good.but after reading the reviews,i am in a trouble,pls can any 1 tell me that which is the best phne in sony between a price range of 4500-7500.pls help me?i m a student & i want to buy my first phone!! i want a decent battery (since i m in a rural area)music player,good camera,and a strong body. if any 1 want to rply then rply me at boxersanu@gmail.com .waiting for ur openions.

i hav a problem with this phone..
when i hear fm radio the headphone sound is good..
but when i hear mp3 4m music player it hav distortion..
pls tell anybdy how 2 solve this prob

this is an extreamly stupid phone I've aver come across don't waste ur money on this toy I think this was made for children to play with.maybe sony ericsson should recosider making mobile phone and start making toys.

i've tried all tyes of format, but its not working...

The volume of the speakers is very low.uve gotta have a very powerful ears to use this phone so that u dont miss ur calls.the battery is weak.the network sensor is poor.its not worth it coompare to its price.

Baigan ka phone, I saw personally...Instead of this go for Nokia 2760 only memory is less but good deal...better than this phone..My review is based on 2 months of extensive research..many problems with this phone and no spare parts available incase of repair..

It goes into emergency calls only mode very quickly when the signal strength is only slightly weak where as with other phones in the same area with the same sim card you can still make calls.
Although it has voice recording you cannot record a telephone call.
The good part - I use the alarm a lot and the gesture control is a real blessing, The radio is excellent, the phone feels classy and compact to hold in the hand.

hey..i've just purchased z555 yesterday..though i've activated the "gesture control" but while getting an incoming call and moving the hand over the phone, it doesnt go on silent mode...also, i faced another problem..while getting a incoming call, the call is automatically picked as i open the flap..i can't disconnect, if i've to ignore any number......plzz help (avantika.m.11@gmail.com)

I purchased this phone about 8 months ago, and I wish that some of the opinions were on here before I purchased the phone as the sound on my phone stopped working about 2 months ago. The charger has to be moved around before it charges the phone. The phone would freeze and randomly turn off by itself even when the battery is fully charged. And now when I turn it on the screen is black and nothing comes on the screen but the key pad lights up when the phone is turned on though. I wouldn't recommend this phone to anyone after reading everone else's reviews.
