Nest has announced that its third-gen thermostat - which was launched in the US back in September this year - is now available in several European countries including the UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium and Republic of Ireland. It carries a price tag of £199/€249 (tax included).
In addition to the new design features, the model released in the aforementioned countries also comes with a couple of Europe-only features, including remote hot water control and OpenTherm compatibility.
The remote hot water control feature lets you adjust the hot water schedule from your smartphone or thermostat, while OpenTherm compatibility enables two-way communication between compatible boilers and the thermostat to calculate the exact amount of gas to burn to reach or maintain the requested temperature.
"We are continuing to expand our presence in Europe – the 3rd generation Nest Thermostat will be available through thousands of retail locations, professional distributors, and directly through Nest Pro installers, and at a discount or at no cost at all through energy partners," said Lionel Paillet, General Manager of Europe for Nest.
