ok i admit when i saw the announcement of the 3GS initially, my impressions were: omg. they have actually added mms and copy+paste.
then i look at my sony Xperia and wonder why they didn't do this sooner(like maybe the iphone 2G or 3G).
i also look back on my past mobile phones for the past 4 years(SEv600i, SEv630i, SEz750i, Nokia N95, Nokia 6500 slide) and think: well, they should have definitely added these a long time ago, and not wait for "jailbreaking" to become a necessity for most users.
the simple fact is: the only real new thing about the iphone that hasn't been done is the fixed battery, the massive HDD(NN96 was terrible on that)and the gps tracker.
long before the iphone 3GS however Samsung had a phone tracker system in their handsets.
for as long as winmo has been around there has been multiple app stores you can get applications and even customisations.
and walkman phones have had a better sound card than iphones since before the iphone was on sale.
don't get me wrong i am not bashing the iphone, just pointing out that vecause they have done the heavy marketing, they have gotten the reputation of being the first to do this. don't fool yourselves people is all i am saying.
also please tell me logically what is so good about paying a kidney for a phone that has missing features seen in practically every other 3G phone, and the only way to get some back is to (even temporarily) invalidate your warranty. i am trying to get my head around that so i may be able to sell a couple more iphones and get them out from the back of my shop

Has anyone had any luck using those 3g unlock sims for the iphone? I don't want to jailbreak my iphone but I don't also want to stay on the carrier that I am on at this moment in time. Do these chips actually work or are they just a gimmick?
Does anyone have any experience of using these chips and could you recommend the best chip to use for access to all services including access to phone, texting, 3g and so on on say, t-mobile uk? Thanks!

I just heard that the new iPhones are Overheating. Wow, it's obviously true because Apple Officially issued a warning on it. Couldn't they have tested that before it came out? Yet more crap on the iCrap 3G(S)heep.

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-07-03 14:46 from mCSYjailbreaking voids your warranty, the only way to get the warranty back is to unjailbreak aka restore the original software, if you dont do so att and apple both will not touch your iphone, take your jailbroken phone into a store and learn your lesson mr. ignorance

> In reply to [deleted post]the iphone doesnt need that to work.
if you want games on symbian or win mobile you must install, like with iphone.
in pc when you download a game for free (a copy) you need to use a crack. think on iphone on the same terms.
dont be close minded

> In reply to Anonymous @ 2009-07-03 17:24 from w9LDlol I know, I know, perhaps a slight exaggeration, but I think it helped explain my point a little better! But it's true though, the only reason you'd return it is if it was faulty, and its not always possible to connect a faulty phone to Itunes........
And it's difficult not to take comments personally when they are directly aimed at me, I guess I'm just not one to be talked down to, particularly by someone who has absolutely no idea who I am or what I'm all about! It's a shame though that some people are completely incapable of calmly discussing their points and choose to throw around personal insults to anyone who doesn't share their closed-minded opinion. Perhaps a lack of intellect or respect is the cause of that, so I guess rather than taking their comments personally, I'll just smile and pity their ignorance :)
