TooMuchMoney, 30 Aug 2009Don't worry if you have concerns about this device. We are still 1 month away from release but... moregee really? thanks so much for comforting me. I was losing so much sleep at night laying awake worrying about this phone and how it will perform. It was really eating me up inside and i was becoming distraught, not knowing what it will be like. But now you've come along with the most brilliant and genious reassurance for me- wait and see how it is when its released and reviewed! I never even thought of that! thanks man your a real hero, you've bowled me over with your razor sharp insight. i can now sleep well tonight.
Don't worry if you have concerns about this device. We are still 1 month away from release but after Nokia World on Tuesday you will see plenty of reviews of the prototype and final production units.
We will all find out how good the N900 is soon enough.
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2009My brother has a Omnia and in sunligth u cant see a thing, by the way this phone is very cool!... moreYeah I saw the review of it's AMOLED screen here. I guess it's great for viewing things indoors! However it is a high quality phone.
Anonymous, 30 Aug 2009Im sure SE will surprise everyone. both Sony and Nokia are working on multi-touch technology. ... moreSE is DEAD get over it!!!! they never ever delivered, why now? hahahah
RIP SE!!! youre not going to be missed!

on a side note, how exactly the performance on this n900? i mean, i have samsung innov8, nokia n97, se x1, htc diamond 2, (am really a gadget freak am i?) they all varies differently, some had the same features, some had the better upperhands. any chnace anyone can point out the sunlight legibility? i find its hard with some of device under sunlight to work wonderfully.
Be a keen observant first.
You don't have to get the N900 right then and there. let it settle into the market for a few months and see if the N900 can deliver to it's promise without a glitch or bump (and at least to lower the price a bit) If all goes well...then buy it.
Seem like symbian s60v5 need much more work to compette with maemo

Seem like stantum multitouch is the only technology that can beat iPhone multitouch patent
stantum multitouch work with both resistive and capacitive
nokia acquire the company asap!!!!

and here comes the multi-touch on a resistive screen
kaled, 30 Aug 2009i agree with you, everyone here got different taste, different view, different requirement and... moreExactly, it's the user who is the winner, not the companies. They only profit from the money we throw at them, and we call them awesome? LOL?
You should really thank yourself and not the companies. Sure, they provide good products for us, but your mind makes up which is the right one for you. Out of a million phones to choose from, you knew the one you wanted.
just what I think =]
Anonymous, 29 Aug 2009Unlike other buyers
I want to hear the bad sides of n900!
Is 1320mah battery strong enough... more1. We don't know the talk time and standby hours. Little quick to judge huh?
2. Portrait mode is available in phonebook mode, calls, and Music player, should you choose to rotate it. IF not the other features, I'm sure accelerometer firmware will kick in to solve that problem.
3. FM radio clients? They are downloadable. Btw, Internet Radio is awesome too, give that a try..
4. Let's be real...do we really need a digital compass if we have GPS. There's a ^ N sign on the GPS map in case you REALLY don't know which way is north (lmao).
I don't believe this is an iPhone killer. Why would anyone want to kill the iPhone? You see this is just the perception that mobile reviewers implant into fanboys, as well as customers.
For example if a phone comes along and mobile reviewers claim it as awesome, the next phone after that from a different company, which they also claim awesome, they designate it the previous phone's "killer". Which is stupid, and probably the epicenter of all fanboy-related arguments in this thread..
and, I thought we already established that Resistive touchscreens can handle multitouch. But I guess the explaination to that is buried under the Nokia/iPhone debacles..
Also, resistives can also handle stylus'. Even though you don't get one on the N900, you can purchase one and use it. So that means you have stylus, finger and multitouch.
Seb Mason, 27 Aug 2009I don't know why everyone argues so much. it's pointless, everyone has different tastes, it's ... morei agree with you, everyone here got different taste, different view, different requirement and different definition of what's best and what's not. each company is struggling to make these demands by fans and haters. so, in the end, we rules over the company as the users decide whether a device is good enough for certain market, or an all-rounder device for all types of market.
i didn't say nokia rules, or se rules, or apple rules, samsung rules, rim rules or any other company that i forgot to mention. it's us, the user who rules!!!
just as a side note, i do hope this n900 could deliver the expected expectation of the users, unlike n97, just a few months into launch, it's seat as one of the top phone seems to shake already with all bugs and fixing and stuff.
i'm hoping also se would deliver x2 as expected, and not trying to cut any corners.
technology competition is a cutthroat business, deliver as expected, you'll get the glory, vice versa, well, you get the idea.
The more i do research the more i like this cell!! It seems nothing comes even close! I need one ASAP!
a1, 30 Aug 2009So editing word and excel documents is not (yet) possible...We don't know yet, but if it's not supported right out of the box, it would be just like Symbian phones, paid!
Anonymous, 29 Aug 2009What is optical touch screen? CAn you give me the link that nokia is working on it?Here is the link I believe you are looking for on Nokias touch tech patent.
