I have purchased a Moto E from Indian market. Currently I am using this phone in UAE. Can I get this Lollipop update here in UAE at the same time which getting in India?
praveen, 12 Feb 2015I can't update lollipop for my moto e. Even I updated my Motorola update service. It shows you... moreThe updates are limited to very selected users, who participated in the soak test. To see if the update is working perfectly or not, so if everthing goes well, we will get the updates in next couole of days
To all those who are bashing me about using an antique S3 from 2012, get this. Moto E is not even the flagship device of the company and has inferior specs than S3. Still it's getting Lollipop update.
You are the kind of morons who have made these companies to make the people throw out their devices after just a couple of years of use. S3 still is a solid performer and with a toned down touchwiz with lollipop can perform way better than lot of phones these days too. I'm also a samsung fan and have been defending samsung for lot of it's mistakes but it needs to respect its 40 million S3 users too. 40 million users is not a small deal. Their wrong strategies are the main reason why most of their customer base is shifting to lot of other companies such as Moto, Lenovo, Xiaomi, Oppo and even apple.
ufkm, 12 Feb 2015yep u still get updates because even 4 years later the OS its still that bad u need more updat... moreLame.. At least apple dont forget their old devices. While samsung dont even gave their samsung s3 an official android kitkat update whahahahaha poor samsung! Lol
Brisen, 12 Feb 2015My iPhone 4s still got updates till now. And it was released 4years ago(2011). So yeah, poor s... moreyep u still get updates because even 4 years later the OS its still that bad u need more updates. . .
My moto g (2013), unbranded and unlocked hasn't got the lollipop in uk, and no-one I know in UK has either

Angry Mobile Nerd, 12 Feb 2015Can S3 users please stop whining, it's 2015 now and the S3 was 2012.My iPhone 4s still got updates till now. And it was released 4years ago(2011). So yeah, poor samsung users.
the Android 5.0 Lollipop update is rolling out to limited Moto E and Moto Maxx users who are under the company's soak test. The Lenovo-owned company confirmed soak test for the Moto Maxx in Brazil and Mexico had begun, as well as the soak test for the Moto E in Brazil and India.
Kettzy, 12 Feb 2015Samsung should be ashamed, that they couldn't provide update to their ex-flagship device Galaxy S3.Ok, following your logic Samsung have to update all the old flagships, lets start for the galaxy S, then S2.... Buy a new device...
Proud to be a Motorola user. Super fast with updates and covered all devices they launched after the Google takeover to Android L
"Both Moto G generations have already received the update"
No, they haven't. My Moto G 4G still isn't updated, and by the looks of it, Apple will release iOS 9 before I even get Lollipop.
"Soak test over, now the Motorola Moto E is getting Lollipop for real. ...
Motorola hasn’t opened the floodgates though, the updates are continuing to roll out slowly to small test groups at first."
That doesn't even make sense.
Plus, my Moto G will happily disagree with the assertion that they've all got Lollipop already.
Motorola dropped the ball big time. They promised updates for all these devices till the end of 2014.
Update by oem increase trust value towards that brand and second time people intend to buy that brand product(i trust motorola after nokia)

Anonymous, 12 Feb 2015Moto G 2nd retail and NO lollipopwait for motorola to push android 5.1 update as 5.0.2 is buggy and 4.4.4 kitkat works like a charm.
Kettzy, 12 Feb 2015Samsung should be ashamed, that they couldn't provide update to their ex-flagship device Galaxy S3.If that's the case they should be ashamed for not updating their ex flagship galaxy s2 also... Don't be an idiot. S3 and S2 are extremely old models now. Time for you to replace your antique s3. We have colour television these days to you know and we don't have to wind up our radios anymore either.
