and frankly who needs that many goddam colours?
Its a phone not a TV.
If you need that many colours you spend all too much time on your phone and not enough in the real world. stop crying and go find a phone that does if you simply cant live without ridiculous and barely noticable saturation on your 3 inch screen.

Well, if there is not a graphic dedicated chip, it may be just the same as the Toshiba TG01,some more features but I would prefer something like Omnia HD, N900 that play games fine. games is not the main use I do but when I want it to do, I want it to do well, other applications may show lags too, let's remember that Touch HD2 has a huge relative dense screen,

And the reason it's only 65K colours is because that's the maximum WinMo supports.
All in all, this seems like the perfect phone, but I'm still having trouble between choosing this, the N900 and the 3GS...

No dedicated GPU? So N900, Iphone 3GS and Omnia HD are more powerful...

If MS's OEM partners wanted to, they could increase the memory used in certain buffers and implement displays with support for more right now.
The problem is MS has never forced them to do so and since lower-colour displays will almost certainly be cheaper, basically everyone has colluded and never bothered to improve matters.
Thankfully, WinMo7 will be fixing this when it's released, forcing hardware manufacturers to use superior displays.
