Google is making a mistake here. 2 years were appropriate when the smartphone industry was still moving fast. But now it's getting slower, smartphones don't get obsolete that fast anymore.
Anonymous, 27 May 2015They said same about Lollipop and we know how it ended. Ask S4 users...I own an S4 and I already received LL months ago.

The best example of this is the galaxy nexus, the hardware on the galaxy... moregpu on the galaxy nexus is terrible, it can't handle 720p, iphone 4s had the best gpu in 2011, 2x the theoretical performance of galaxy nexus's gpu, sgx543mp2 vs sgx540. battery life is bad too. its probably better for it to stay on 4.3
What only two years!? The best example of this is the galaxy nexus, the hardware on the galaxy nexus is still capable of running lollipop with no hitch at all but google did not update it to lollipop. In contrast apple is still supporting iphone4s which im sure will lag with ios9 but they still update the aging hardware
Macademia Nut Cookie?.. wtf.. all those brainiacs at google couldnt thing about something better!!
Rx, 27 May 2015Is it any better? Yes. Is it good? Yes. While you can't use newer app due to your 'outdated' v... moreActually in Android that is an uncommon event, because developers are given compatibility libraries that allow their apps to work on older versions.
Right now, only those with pre-ICS devices may have reason to complaint... but those are devices (in terms you can understand) at the iPhone 4 level.
Android M. Probably API level 23-24.
Yet after 22+ iteration of API, creating Android app is not becoming any easier.
You have to deal with strangeness of Java object, ugliness of Android API, and finally, fight against the IDE itself, as both Eclipse and Android Studio both gives the same headache.
Why Android is giving updates every year by year with a minor changes not of a big deal from Froyo to Gingerbread to Jelly Bean to Ice Cream Sandwich to Kitkat to Lollipop, Now Android M so many 'NAMES', creating a CONFUSION

Cenas, 26 May 2015Weird, my Nexus 4, which is an over 2 years old phone, is smooth as butter on Lollipop.Yup.. I agree too.
I do not face any lag issues in my nexus4 running 5.1
regs, 26 May 2015Windows 10 is not yet released but already gained almost 2,5% of Windows mobile devices. While... moreSad little fact: Lollipop's 10% translates to many times the whole WP's market share put together.
SaRPeR, 26 May 2015Yes, Apple keeps updating the phones after 2 years but is it any better ? If you update a 2+ y... moreAren't we forgetting the very important fact that security holes do get patched while in Android usually you only get app related updates (the core system will remain mostly unpatched, unless the manufacturer actually bother to release a patched ROM -- which is a rare occurrence)?
It's an old phone, of course it won't be like a new phone. But does that mean it has to be unsafe to use? Do remember the massive amount of personal data a smartphone carries!
Enjoy being hacked and leaking huge amounts of information through unpatched security holes.
Satz, 26 May 2015Sweet google jesus! mean while iPhone 4S(2011) is going to get iOS9That's what happens when on you buy phones from companies like Shamsung which use Lagdroid.
what with products barely lasting 2=3 years for a company to say that they will offer support should be mandatory but as we know tech manages to move so fast in 2_3 years oct/core will be very (last year)!
