VOICE NAVIGATION DOES WORK, i tested it yesterday, the day it came out. you just need to download the text-to-speech pack from the market. very very nice, exactly as i expected from a gps. updates frequently and smoothly even under a very bad edge network here in my small town. map rotates so your tracking always faces north, something GPS one-click doesn't have (and i jsut bought it last week :\ but only $2.99 ) google gps really works and does everythign i need it to, layers are awesome, w/ optional traffic info, as well as all the lights and gas stations you are approaching as well as navigate in satelite mode, i prefer just map on a slow network and it's easier to the eyes.

The device still needs a digital compass to make the navigation work, am I correct?
