I can see Symbian retreating completely into midrange and Maemo taking the lead in high-end. S40 is outdated - heading the same way motorola's sad P2K05 system. Droid is moving a bit too fast.
Somewhere in the not-too-distant future there will be a huge change in this market.
Looking at the good chunk of Maemo projections for next year, I'm guessing Nokia is planning to release at least 3 or 4 feature loaded upper midrange and high end handsets running the new OS.
Anonymous, 02 Dec 20091stOkay, the first useful comment - Nokia better watch its step. Symbian is looking a bit shaky right now against the likes of Android, even in the midrange. With the onslaught of devices from HTC, SE and likes, I think Symbian^2 might need to be released a lot quicker than Nokia had originally anticipated.
Good for Nokia, this means more and cheaper smartphones
