Still HATE it, won't change my mind, won't "get over it and get used to", neither did millions of consumers. Microsoft learned the lesson, now 10 brings back stuff closer to what they were. On that note, hope GSMArena also learns, same applies here.
It's not about being hard or easy, it's about being better or worse, and specially preferences. The change was way too radical and wasn't well received.

Vee, 11 Jul 2015I think people are just scared of change. Its technology, it grows and not suppose to be stagnant. Not quite. I do like Windows 10, using it now, but yes 7 was better looking. In fact Vista was as well. And even if it was about being scared to change, this is totally valid. Having to re-learn basic stuff like reaching Control Panel (and yes it's entirely different on Windows 10, how you get to it, not the panel itself), cause that Settings menu on it is a terrible joke, is quite a hassle for non tech savvy people, having to find your way around stuff you used to know (and maybe took a long time to even get used to), isn't pleasant.
Besides, there's one really important thing: the need to change is close to 0. Some people don't need even hardware upgrades to their off the shelf PCs (hence they last long, unlike phones that wear out faster), let alone OS upgrade. There simply isn't actual reason to upgrade from 7 to 10 unless you have issues on 7 (that was my case), or you using 8.
Anonymous, 12 Jul 2015ouch can u read simple office task?? not everyone need autocad, bla.. bla.. bla... lol most... morePCs pertain to laptops too. Those CAD et al. are office programs too. Without them, there would be no content for the internet, entertainment, designs and essential processing for our daily lives. They are needed. Maybe desktops will eventually be diminishing even more as PC LAPTOPS can be as powerful as the desktops (it's happening for a long time). I can't deny tablets and cellphones can even do word and slide shows now (my personally casting powerpoints and pdfs from my phone to a TV with a Chromecast). Simple office programs? - you still need a keyboard to properly encode, mouse/pointer device and a big screen to see things - try writing an entire 5000+ word paper with your phone or tablet with only touch screen input... Not a pleasent experience. Nothing beats a full keyboard typing experience, writing as fast as you think. Microsoft is getting it right with their Surface/Surface Pro lineup, and it's a matter of time when hardware efficiency can catch up to the power needs with lower heating (even more) - somehow as who would have predicted the gadgets of today as cool as they are now, a decade ago? They would someday as powerful as servers now. They're just evolving to something better.

Exactly. I love playing Crysis 3 in my S6 :D
This is because peple are waiting for Windows 10 to come out, people don't want to buy new PC with Windows 8.1 right now when new, better, 10 will come out in few months..
It's partly true. As a matter of fact today users are professional in either business or gaming; so, assembling is a better action to have the most powerful PC in hands than ordering already assembled Gaming PC, Business Laptops, etc.
The more self collecting parts, the lower market share for PC industry Giants. Operating System is one obvious fact that can make statistics toward PC industry more valid.

This UI, i do not know why did they choose such confusing theme, all grey/silver, makes it so hard to find different sections.
Obviously, designer did not think through end user's perspective, but about all white/grey theme which would turn colourful on hovering. This is not good.

People spend more time on their tabs and iPads than on PCs almost rendering it obsolete, in fighting back to make sure PCs users have reasons to retain and buy new PCs a version that will actively compete with the Tab and iPads was sprang fort, Combining the desktop mode with the Lumia mode thus Win8 and 10 were born. Please try and have an open mind then try out the Win8 you ll sure post positively next time, Cheers.

Windows 8 and 10 are so unbelievably ugly compared to windows 7 or OSX. The first thing a customer will see when a computer is switched on is the screen and if this is full of square flat boxes with no texture or form the impression will not be good. Just compare it to apple OSX to see what the first (and lasting) impression will be, windows 95 styled graphics are not what you would expect in 2015. I am making a linux icon theme for my windows 7 to at least make it look like a modern system ! Why don't microsoft make themeing Windows an easy option? then the customers can fix microsoft short sightedness themselves
