Furthermore, the "Omnia" HD is no real HD. And the Oohhminia "HD" is a Symbiam OS.

While I am still debating whether I should take a 2.1 vs a 6.5 version, I am also in trouble deciding between Googles power and Microsoft compatibility.

My guess is this. Googles will still need to make Microsoft software compatible with all of its services because Googles will need to retain its control over the web.

> In reply to paranoia @ 2009-12-22 15:46 from L91S - click to readGoogles has its own phone since the G1 with HTC. It was not been called Googles with all the letters.

Because the phone is made by HTC doesn't mean that Googles isn't creating its own phone. Cooperating with technological knowledge is one thing, but partnering with a market release of a final product for the consumer is another matter. So far Googles has upper handed Microsoft on that part.

HTC has been there since the XDA time with Microsoft Pocket PC era. It knows how to make good PDA phones. Everything is not all in the hardware specs. You need support, frequent software updates, tweaked softwares, and etc...

> In reply to paranoia @ 2009-12-22 15:46 from L91S - click to readIt's called being smart.Last I checked Google's not technically a hardware company.Doesn't make sense to gamble the farm by doing a separate yet full on hardware subsidiary just to put out a debut phone when it's cheaper to just pay HTC as a contract out.And the crucial diff to that SE+HTC=Xperia X1 example you gave was that SE just wasn't equipped with their own slide out qwerty design and it just happened that HTC was glad to cooperate.

No thrilling specifications as Samsung Omnia HD. Samsung omnia HD, is a far better phone than this.
