i think SE should do something about this loses, maybe on some part they deserve this, for them wakeup and see what really is happening its already 2010 not 2000 and other thing they dont really care for their loyal customers, ive been a loyal customer of SE for almost 5years, i can say that yes thier phones are great with build quality, but they lack support that others have like nokia, rim and apple. They should also develop a unique phone not just copycats of other manufacturer. They keep on concentrating on the camera phone, well if only camera you want then just buy a digital camera, which all people do have right nOw. Lets just hope that x10, x2 and vivaz will work fine this year
P.s. They should lower the price too. Like nokia very affordable and reliable.
What do we expect? SE never learned their lessons. :(
SE is known and popular with list below:
1. Always delays their handsets.
2. Always used the same phone design, meaning recycled. Look at SE phone list and you will notice that they are all the same designs, it is just that some phones are bar, flip and slide, but they look the same... Ha ha ha!
3. User interface never improved, already 10 years but still the same boring UI.
4. Never listen to their fans requests. (I used to be an SE fan from year 2002 till 2006 (15 SE phone models in 4 years) in but stopped already and didn't but any SE phone again.
SE wake up!!! You are far far behind the competition already...!
Look at Samsung and LG now, even Motorola now changing their strategy by adopting Android OS which I thing a very good move.
Sony ericsson should add an os to their phones, thinking logicaly who spends 10-15k for just a feature phone, though I love multi tasking feature and flash menus, media centers, which is lacking in nokia's s40,
Implementing os in their mid range phones could give sony ericsson a boost.
jasdeep, 23 Jan 2010hey u all budies.cant u see there is a word sony in se.just search the net and u wil see, it w... moreWho cares who came up first with DVD's TV's Recorders and whatever else.
What i see now,the deal with SE is yes they do come up first with so many great ideas, but all other little companies develop those ideas into a real thing much faster and cheaper then Sony. So i think they'll never improve doing business this way. I like their phones yes,but waiting so long for X10 to be released got me little impatience,so guess what i got myself I-phone,and blackberry, and trust me even when X10 comes out,i won't go buy one, because i don't need a third phone..
Anonymous, 23 Jan 2010Well, they loss 40 million this quarter. That's quite a good improvement compared last quarter... morehahahaha. That was a funny one. Loosing money was never improvement. No matter if you lost more or less this quarter. Loss is loss kiddo :))
hey u all budies.cant u see there is a word sony in se.just search the net and u wil see, it was sony who first released video tape recorder, first coloured tv,first cd and dvd, first portable music player, first gaming console with hd gaming first one to produce gesture gaming in a phone that is yari and first mobile with 12 mp cam.sony can do what other companies cant even think about.only prob. with them is that they bring their products too late in the market and other companies steal their tech. and make their products faster and release them early and with lower prices. so stop saying the decline of se bcuz they will soon come up with the technology that wil be seen first time by the world and wil be revolutionary.mind it
wow... that a lot money.... se must make cheap Smartphone if want survive.
Menay, 23 Jan 2010Most of the SE users i know are tired to says about the phone problem that occured. The chager... moreI've been an SE user for years and I never experienced charger or whatever problems. Plus SE's interface is fast. And they have flashy animations too.
Most of the SE users i know are tired to says about the phone problem that occured. The chager, The headset, The slow interface........
And gues what, Nextime they choose not to the SE phone.
Well, they loss 40 million this quarter. That's quite a good improvement compared last quarter. Besides, SE mentioned that they won't be expecting gaining profits until late 2010. So, they're sorta going on the right way now. Well, they are improving.
I think you guys have to be more realistic and stop dreaming that SE recovery would be a tick of a second. it takes time to recover. look at samsung, it took them nearly a decade to claim another 10 percent of the market share to the current 21%. so even if SE are to recover, they wont be top in the near futher. they have since scale down their investment and pare down lots of manpower, that alone would slow down the number of product they would release alone.
To those naive thinking guys who think that sony would come to rescue, i would tell you, no way, sony itself is struggling with their finances. they have been losing tons of money. they no longer produces tv panel, but outsource to many manufacturer. they have lost billions of dollars over the last decade. in a stark contrast to Samsung, which have reap a profit of 10 billion last year, and are expected to earn more than 12 billion this year. the rise of Samsung wasn't like the story of motorola razr, Samsung gain its market share through years of hardship and they gain it slow and steady. Samsung have investment plan of more than 25 billion this year, that have totally eclipse the shareholder value of sony. with that amount, no doubt they would come out with more innovative product to the consumer. Its time for SE/sony to rethink their strategy and regain their foothold before thinking of reaching to the sky. i think being realistic is more than fantasizing their past glory.
Wow! I soo can't imagine SE being gone! That means.. no more awesome stylish designs! Oh my gosh, I don't wanna use nokia or worse... samsung! AHHHHH! They have the most hideous designs ever! And their UI is sooo lame! No more flashy UI! Oh please SE you better not mess up this year. But then again, maybe Sony will still continue making phones. Oh well.
They're killing themselves by having these devices at such unattainable prices. Drop the prices and increase the profit by selling many many more devices. Surely Sony should know about supply and demand by now.
SonyEricsson needs to learn from other manufacturers like Nokia, Samsung, Acer and the likes. Unless SE is hoping to sell 1 phone every hour, they need better prices; cheaper is better. If the X10 will cost $700-$1000 very few will actually buy it.
If SE manages to sell the X10 for $499 . . . I know it sounds crazy but everyone's going to buy one even those who already have a nice android device like the Nexus One.
all they should do to get back in the game is make some cheap touchscreen phones like samsung does with their f480, star, preston and corby.
sony ericsson doesnt have enough range of phones. they put in all this effort to make all their phones great but because of all that time and effort it ends up taking forever to be released and costing far to much.
i have an x1 and love sony ericsson but i think there is no point to buy the x2 because there is no real difference to the x1 and nothing great on it. the x10 will be too expensive so people will buy the nexus one or the hd2.
sony ericsson should definately change all their business plans and marketing and that
SE 2010, 23 Jan 2010Keep wining about SE and their products, and this will not change anything. SE will rise again... moreIf you read the article again, SE don't really have any more chances. This is the final year SE can set things right; if it don't then that's it.
And seeing how SE higher-ups don't really seem to give a damn (and had the same attitude for the past few years), I really, really doubt SE will survive till the end of 2011. And no, I'm not an anti-SE; I own a few SE sets myself and they are ok. I got them cheap in a clearance sale so I don't have complaints about their price...
What I'm hoping is that SE DO break up, so Sony gets its own phone company and Ericsson goes back to its own. Though admittedly, Sony themselves ain't doing too well in the market overall... Ericsson; that's a different story.
