All these companies are so greedy for many that they will go to any length to squeeze every single from the American consumer.

im kinda glad i havent bought the unlocked one
however it does suck big time that they upgraded the memories for tmo; theyre both totally different device. i would love to buy it unlocked so that i dont have to hate myself for paying the $15 difference for data plan, monthly. but if i did, its bye bye wm 7

You need to upgrade the OS at www.xda-developers.com. Look at the Leo ROM section but be careful if you don't know what you are doing and read the instructions carefully.

WOOHOO Tmobile usa finally gets a handset that not dulled down. as a tmobile retail rep i am super excited to see this phone in the wild. I think the hd2 will help put winmo back on the smart phone radar!

The original European model does have 576 RAM that can be unlocked. Now all I need is a 16gb memory card!!

> In reply to Colleen @ 2010-01-26 22:41 from kKxh - click to readGood question!
I 'THINK' it may not work outside T-Mobile USA 3G.
You will be able to get EDGE outside the USA.
Unless, you start flashing some other custom R*M.

The only good phone offered by carriers in the US right now are the Motorola Droid (Verizon), the iPhone (ATT) and now the boosted version of the HD2 (T-mobile).
You guys in europe can even find the same phone with different carriers so you can actually go for the best phone plan!
Here, companies like Verizon or Spring use CDMA and not GSM phone. That means the phone will be locked FOR LIFE with the same carrier (I'm not talking about what you guys have in europe and can be "un-locked" after 3 months).
Hell! by the time we actually get the boosted HD2 here you'll probably get the SE X10! (which will take us another 3 months to get thru a carrier).
I'd looooooove to get the Nokia N900 for exemple. But it's really unlikely that we EVER gonna have it thru a carrier here in the US. And I don't really feel like spending $550 on a cell phone.
So please! stop b*tching.

Still going to buy the euro HD2, can't stand my N96, very poor battery life and sluggish.
And I love WinMo (unlike the majority of people).

all you people in Europe need to chill you guys ALWAYS get the latest phones that never make it to the united states. Have you seen our selection? Go to the us carrier websites and see for yourself. Stop criticizing you've had this phone since 2009. Let us have one good mobile...
