The restarting and freezing is a RAM issue

I luv e fone nd ever since i updated it,it keeps on freezing nd restarting it self. I would luv it if nokia can do something about it nd try to provide as better updates to solve those problems.

i hope the next firware will improve an ability of rotation because i thought that the rotation of n97 is not so good, i mean if it is no black and rotate, it will be nice phone. For smoothing is not so good also.

I recently got a N97 V21.0.045 , RM505 and by what i can see even this firmware version isnt doing much as far as phone hanging or screen freezing is concerned .
Does anyone has an idea by when Nokia could be releasing the new firmware ?
i am based in South Africa

I was having a horrible issue with my N97 with firmware 10.something, issue was this that all messages are deleted automatically after 2 or 3 days, today I upgraded my firmware to the latest one(21.0.045) OTA but still facing the same issue. Can somebody guide me to resolve this issue??

well...jus updated yesturday..was let down cuz was expecting much more from nokia.,,but da gud thing is it did fix some of da bugs i was getin with the old firmware...for now its working well enough for me...but it is a let down by nokia!!!

Its just sad to see Nokia a well known and respected company falling so low as doing fraud with its customers, giving out falsified information about their product. I used to be fan of nokia but now i hate it.
The so called flagship the n 97 is the biggest failure of nokia yet, trying to compete with the iphone and the htc i never knew they could fall to such low levels.
I mean i spent like 600$ on a phone which takes an hour to send an mms and crashes if you try to run 2 apps at one time.
The new firmware is useless, though it frees up some run but the problem of the phone crashing again and again persists. And never pull a hard reset on the new firmware beacause it will cause your phone to stop working completely, after that you will only be able to turn it on or off while cursing yourself and nokia...I hope nokia goes bankrupt... =D cheers

they changed how the homescreen swap from wallpaper to full widgets into something horrible...i wish i can downgrade to firmware 20...:(

well updated about a week ago..smoother kinetic scrolling? lol i don't think so..it even got worse..not smoother at all..i don't see any good changes..picture stability? don't think so as well..fail!!!!

got this update today...nothing new...but the nHD screen is much more bright....n no smooth scrolling...fells all the same...!!!!!!!!!!!

just wanted to say

i had all sorts of kinetic scrolling problems with the previous firmware, to the point that i thought i had a faulty digitizer. I could not use my touch screen on multiple occasions, as it was simply not registering any of my touches

i gave the new firmware a go before i ordered a replacement digitizer, and wow, it fixed everything. I love this update... and free ovi maps! WOW nokia!

on topic, has anyone got the update to work in the last 24-48 hours? think the update server went down, mine just hangs... need to try on a different computer

1st of all,why shd i under-use a fon i bought for the same price as someone else bcos of my geological location...fon updates shd be made available to everyone at the sametime...my night shots with my camera still has the flash on the picture...the scrollin is better than before,including the network reception...more updates required.
