> In reply to Anonymous @ 2010-02-10 15:22 from uSNN - click to readJudging by your response you are either ignorant or have no grasp on how the market works. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say that you are both. First off, you haven't been to Asia/China and the press you see often depicts tacky counterfeit goods from Shenzhen, you have not been to an Asian country such as South Korea or China so you cannot make assumptions that an Asian nation makes rubbish, fo your information the Iphone and the laptop or desktop you are using was built and assembled in China, what do you contribute to that argument other than non-constructive criticism? People want practicality, yes, we like our Iphones and Nokia Smartphones, but let us not forget that more than half of the market are ordinary folk who just need the features such as the camera/music player/texting/games, the OS, processing power and look are irrelevant, so your argument is already flawed and you'll find that you and the others with a dislike for this ARE the minority who don't like this.

As for Ian's argument on innovation, i fail to see how this has more innovation than nokia and Sony Ericsson when they practically release the same features and offer the same usability using a similar calibre handse of the same chassis. The forms on Samsung are more interesting than the slabs we are accustomed to from Nokia, functionality wise and ease of use however, the Finns pretty much outclass the South Korean company. Now, why can;t we get more of the Samsungs that never make it out of Korea/China and Japan.

> In reply to Ian @ 2010-02-09 16:49 from 3J6d - click to readYou can refrain your comment, this is a mid range phone. There's not always the need for a massive touchscreen, not everyone wants thier phone to be a Nexus One/Nokia N900 or Iphone. People want simplicity, and this is to the average Joe who doesn't care about what OS they use or how mny GHZ it has, WILL be better and more usable than a smartphone. At the end of the day, companies are going to cater to the masses who could care less if they use a winmo7 or Iphone OS smartphone, not geeks like us on gsmarena/engadget or gizmodo. This is a pretty decent offering for a mid range phone, certainly superior to what Nokia and SE are offering in thier mid range offering as of late.

Samsung is innovative. Not like boring SE and nokia s. Depends only a few handsets. Unable to release new handsets frequently. Good job SAMSUNG.

To be honest, Nokia 5800 looks better than this (in terms of specifications and looks.) This won't do well unless it is going to be extremely cheap. Besides, Samsung already have Jet which excels in every feature & looks, and may be cheaper.

There is abosolutely no reason for getting this ugly thing instead of the clearly superior Nokia 5530. I wonder how could samsung make 800 billion euros since all they release is crap. Maybe just Southkoreans like their phones and waste money buying several. Even LG makes better looking phones software and hardware-wise.

Old wine, new bottle. And a recycled bottle that is. Common folks, give us some concept models atleast for an event of the caliber or MWC . Quantity don't mean quality. It might help boost your sale for the masses, but for us classes, try again.

The year 2010, and we are treated to phones that should belong in the year 2003. Why are manufacturers not pushing the boundaries? Those new Vodafone phones they showed off on Unwierdview is what I'm talking about, that is what we should be seeing, not this BS. I've got no hope for 2010 whatsoever, already the phones are bloody boring. I reckon in 10 years time, the phones will be amazing but NOT MUCH will have changed, because of greedy tight manufacturers with very little vision not willing to invest in brand new technologies.

I don't know about you guys but I find this Samsung phone quite atractive :d It looks a bit agresive but at the same time adds youthful detailes which I find very appealing :D And yes,it looks like it rivals Samsung Marvel more than the OmniaLITE.
